It’s not always fun to get to Disneyland only to discover your favorite ride is closed for refurbishment. However, the good news is that we usually have a little advance notice when that happens. It isn’t often enough of a notice to reschedule our trips, but at least it prepares us for the disappointment, right?
The early months of the year are usually PRIME time for ride refurbishments in Disneyland. So if you’re visiting then, you’ll want to be aware of which rides are closed. If you’re planning on visiting the park during that time, particularly Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you’ll want to know about this ride closure: Rise of the Resistance will be closed as of January 20th.
According to the Disneyland calendar, Rise of the Resistance will be closed on January 20th and will remain closed at least the rest of the week (which is as long as the calendar runs at the time of writing). This is probably for some scheduled ride maintenance (and honestly, if you’ve ever been on Rise of the Resistance, you’ll understand that this high tech ride that goes down often needs a LOT of maintenance to keep it up and running).
Disney has not revealed a reopening date for the ride, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for it. In the meantime, you’ll still be able to ride Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, as well as enjoy the rest of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, like being ordered around by Stormtroopers, meeting Kylo Ren, saying hello to Grogu, and eating all the ronto wraps you want.
We’ll keep an eye out for more park closures, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
