The Southern California favorite Porto’s Bakery and Cafe is making its way to Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney District soon — and we just got confirmation that construction has officially started!
The spot will bring its signature sweet pastries and savory Cuban food to Downtown Disney. Porto’s is part of the expansion of the Downtown Disney District, joining other recently opened eateries such as Din Tai Fung, Paseo, and Centrico. Disney just shared more details and photos, so let’s check them out!
Porto’s Bakery & Café is known for its pastries and California-Cuban-inspired dishes, and we’re so excited for it to come to Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort.
Disney has confirmed that we can look forward to dining on Porto’s signature Cheese Rolls, Potato Balls, and other goodies from the bakery and cafe. Not only that, but this will be the first Porto’s location with sit-down table service — and a full bar.
Disney shared an updated look at the concept art, including the grand exterior and cozy dining space pictured above, plus the large outdoor patio that looks like it will be perfect for people-watching!
Porto’s Bakery & Cafe will be located at the former spot of La Brea Bakery, near the Esplanade.
According to the restaurant’s website, Porto’s came about due to Rosa Porto’s love of sharing cakes and pastries with family and friends. Rosa was born in Cuba and grew up surrounded by her mother’s baking and recipes that had been passed down through her family (who were originally from the Galicia region of Spain).
We’ll be on the lookout for more updates about Porto’s Bakery & Café coming to Downtown Disney at Disneyland. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more.
