If you’re sick and tired of that bar soap slipping out of your hands when you’re washing your hands in the sink at your Disney World hotel, you’ll never believe what could be on the way.
We heard a report from a friend of ours that pump soap could be arriving at various Disney World hotel room bathrooms, and we knew we needed to check it out ourselves. So, we headed over to Animal Kingdom Lodge to check it out ourselves, and were NOT disappointed!
We’d like to send a huge thank you to our friend @wdw_bathrooms on Instagram for sharing this news! In their experience, they had recently chatted about always bringing or buying pump soap for their Disney World hotel stays, so they didn’t have to use the pump soap, and tons of comments revealed that pump soap IS now available in Disney World hotel rooms.
Sure enough, we checked it out ourselves, and pump soap IS now available in Disney World hotel rooms, or it seems Disney is transitioning to having both bar soap and pump hand soap available. Additionally, pump hand lotion is available as well.
The back of the bottles indicates that these aren’t for individual sale and are made in the United States with “globally sourced ingredients.” Now this does make it hard for those with allergies or sensitive skin to see what’s inside, but if need be, you can call down to the front desk and see if they can find a list of ingredients.
You will still get bar soap in your room if you prefer to use it, as well as Disney mouthwash, a Vanity Kit, and a Shower Cap. This way, though, it’s much easier to use the Body Soap bar just for the shower, if you’d like, rather than awkwardly need to use it for both the shower AND your hands (which, we know it’s soap, so it IS clean, but…still).

I just stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge last week and we loved the soap pumps, both in the bathroom and the kitchenette of our DVC room. I have mild to moderate eczema on my hands, and the liquid soap did not cause any flare up at all.
Great news! It’s not so much that the bar soap is slippery, it’s more that it irritates me when the soap dish ends up full of water and I have to empty it a couple of times a day so that the soap bar doesn’t dissolve so quickly. My workaround is to put a face cloth in the bottom of the soap dish. It soaks up the excess water but it still makes the soap soft which in turn makes it dissolve quicker. You might think that it doesn’t matter for a few days but we spend up to 3 weeks there at a time. I know mousekeeping will let us have as many bars of soap as we want but I care about the environment and hate waste.
We stayed at The Cabins in Dec & had to request bar soap (none in the room). I couldn’t use the liquid soap because it did bother my skin. Also has an overpowering smell (to be candid, I’m very sensitive to perfumes & scents). Could smell it on my skin & others in my party for a long time after use; it lingered, even after rinsing it off multiple times.
