Does anyone else have an especially hard-to-satisfy sweet tooth at this time of year? Then we’ve got just the place for you… Welcome to Holiday Hearth Desserts!
Holiday Hearth Desserts is a Holiday Kitchen (also known as a Festival Food Booth) at the 2025 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, delivering cookies, cakes, toffee brittle (!!), and MORE to Festival guests. We hope you’ll join us at Holiday Hearth Desserts as we bring your our FULL review!
Menu
You’ll find Holiday Hearth Desserts tucked inside The Odyssey Pavilion. The new Cranberry-Oatmeal Cookie is joined by the new Red Velvet Cake Pop. Returning this year are the Apple-Caramel Crumb Cake, Chocolate-covered Toffee Brittle, and Reindeer Chow.
There are TWO beverage Flights up for grabs, the Beer Flight and the Cider Flight. The Cocoa Peppermint Warmer is made with peppermint schnapps, while the two non-alcoholic options are Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s and the Frozen Caramel Hot Cocoa.
So, are you ready for a sugar rush? Then let’s go!
Eats
The new Cranberry-Oatmeal Cookie is a plant-based option for $3.50. It’s also eligible for a stamp for those participating in the Holiday Cookie Stroll, so don’t forget to have your Festival Passport stamped if you’re collecting those cookies! If you like granola bars, then this is the cookie for you. It is NOT one of those gooey oatmeal cookies, and, well, it’s hard. If you have sensitive teeth…be warned! It tastes pretty good, but it is a challenge to eat.
The Red Velvet Cake Pop is also new this year. Complete with festive sprinkles, it costs $5.50. Disney is really SLAYING with the cake bars, y’all. This one has a crunchy chocolate layer on the outside, but inside is a moist and fluffy cake with a strong chocolate flavor.
Don’t forget… now’s the time we also need to stock up on treats for Santa’s loyal reindeer, too! The returning Reindeer Chow (previously known as Mouse Crunch) is $6.75. We’ve got some bad news for Blitzen, though… we simply couldn’t hold onto the bag until Christmas Eve — we just dug in! M&M’S Milk Chocolate Candies are featured in the holiday mix, along with popcorn and chocolate-covered pretzels. It’s tough to go wrong with a sweet-and-salty (and totally addictive) snack mix. But because it’s something similar to what you may encounter at your yuletide parties this season, we’d recommend passing on it as a Festival item (unless your own little reindeer just can’t resist the colorful crunch).
The Apple-Caramel Crumb Cake is back for $5.00. This is basically like a coffee cake with a slightly crunchy crumble on top. The cake is spongy and moist with icing and caramel on top. The caramel, though, is pretty stiff (it’s the kind that comes out of a squeeze bottle and not like an ooey gooey caramel). It mixes well with the icing, though. Overall, the entire dessert has lovely textures, and it holds well enough to eat it with your hands. Note that there aren’t any actual pieces of apple in this, just apple flavoring.
Rounding out the sweet treats is the Chocolate-covered Toffee Brittle. It returns for $4.75 this year. I don’t know about you, but I can never resist a nice chunk of toffee. Even though my personal preference is for it to be covered in milk chocolate instead of the dark used for this version, this is still a solid treat. And I do mean solid in another sense, too!
Some don’t care for it for that specific reason; Toffee Brittle can be a tough bite for those with sensitive teeth, so it’s best to be warned that there is no give or chew to the toffee. But if you love buttery and salty toffee together with sweet chocolate, this is a winner. (I just so happened to buy a couple last year to keep at home and nosh throughout the season!)
Drinks
There is no shortage of options for what you might sip along with your sweet snacks! The Hard Cider Flight ($12.75) includes three ciders that are new to the Festival this year: BRLO Winter Hard Cider, Keel Farms Yukon Maple Bourbon Hard Cider, and 3 Daughters Brewing Peppermint Hard Cider. You can try any of the ciders individually for $6.00 for a 6 ounce pour or $9.75 for a 12 ounce pour.
The BRLO Winter Hard Cider arrives to the Festival from its brewery in Berlin. We are ALL about a hard cider flight, thanks to this one. It’s nice and acidic, but not super strong. It’s also VERY smooth and drinkable.
The Yukon Maple Bourbon Hard Cider comes from Keel Farms, based in Plant City, Florida. There’s a nice sweetness with this cider, thanks to the maple. There’s a touch of acidity in the back, but it’s very smooth going down. We kept thinking we wanted a hamburger to pair this with.
Just a little farther from Orlando in St. Petersburg is 3 Daughters Brewing, which presents the Peppermint Hard Cider. This is not like drinking toothpaste, which some peppermint drinks are like. It’s more like when you pop a peppermint in your mouth and let it sit there. It’s fun, but not over-the-top and you get that traditional hard cider flavor.
But that’s not the only Flight around these parts! The Beer Flight serves up Wicked Weed’s Brewing Jack Frost IPA, Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co.’s Cranberry Vanilla Wheat Ale, and Brewery Ommegang Gilded Noel White Chocolate Imperial Blonde Stout. Again, you may try any of the beers individually for $6.00 for a 6 ounce pour or $9.75 for a 12 ounce pour.
Wicked Weed’s Brewing Jack Frost IPA returns to the Festival this year. This is a very strong bitter IPA, and bitter is about all you can taste. If you love typical IPAs, though, this might be for you.
New to Festival of the Holidays is Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co.’s Cranberry Vanilla Wheat Ale. As you might expect, this one is very wheaty and earthy. The cranberry vanilla only adds a hint of sweet and sour at the back end of each sip. This is a good traditional beer.
The Brewery Ommegang Gilded Noel White Chocolate Imperial Blonde Stout is another new brew for the Festival this year. This one is very unique. It kind of reminds us of coffee…like that bitter taste of coffee mixed with cream that you’ve added. So you get a bitter taste, but with that super sweetness.
If you’re leaning towards yet another sweet treat, the Frozen Caramel Hot Cocoa is back, and it costs $5.50. TWIX cookie bar pieces and whipped cream over the frozen caramel cocoa give you the idea that the emphasis is certainly on something sweet indeed. The caramel is incredibly prominent — nothing whatsoever about this drink is subtle, and for that reason, even thought it’s tasty for a few sips, it’s made for serious sweet tooths ONLY.
Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s is also up for grabs for $4.00, or you can enjoy it as the Cocoa Peppermint Warmer, which adds peppermint schnapps to the toasty beverage, for $12.75.
My fellow mint-and-chocolate lovers will hop right on board with this one, I think. If you are in Orlando on one of those truly cool days that can pop up in December, this could be just the thing to warm you right up while also putting you in a festive mood!
OVERALL
If you’re craving a sweet treat, you don’t want to miss out on Holiday Hearth Desserts, although we might skip the plant-based option here, unless we were really craving something like a granola bar. Everything else, though, is solid, and we highly recommend grabbing the Hard Cider Flight if you want something boozy to drink — it’s delicious!
