It’s Thanksgiving Day, and guess where we are? Disney World, of course!
We started our day bright and early, and there was a bit of a back-up at the Disney World entrance this morning. Now that we’re in the park, let’s take a look at the holiday crowds.
Now, we usually warn you away from holiday weekends in Disney World because they can be quite crowded. This morning, though, we were surprised! Main Street, U.S.A. really felt like…a normal day in Magic Kingdom.
There were the usual crowds down at the hub taking castle pics (guilty!).
As we made our way to Fantasyland, though, we did notice a big back-up at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The posted wait time was 55 minutes at about 10 AM, but the line looked like Disney would be updating that wait time soon. We think the Lightning Lane may have been backed up.
Speaking of Lightning Lanes, EVERY Lightning Lane Single Pass in Disney World is sold out for Thanksgiving Day. That’s right — every one of the most popular rides in Disney World is sold out of Lightning Lanes, and your only option is the standby line. In addition, Lightning Lane Multi Pass in EPCOT is sold out. So, that’s why we are definitely not telling you that Disney World is empty today! All those people are going to show up to redeem those Lightning Lanes…we’re just guessing a lot of them are waiting until after they’ve had their turkey and mashed potatoes to come out to the parks.
There were still plenty of people waiting to see Santa in Storybook Circus (we KNOW him!).
Here’s hoping you have a wonderful holiday weekend, whether you’re in Disney World or elsewhere! Stay tuned to DFB for full coverage of the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays! We’ll be bringing you all the food and drink and fun on Friday, November 28th!

Looks pretty berate, too crowded. I remember the 1990’s when the Holiday Season was just beginning to be rolled out and improved. Crowds, not really, a great time to visit the Mouse.
