If you’ve wandered through Disney’s Animal Kingdom lately, you’ve probably noticed that the snack game has been quietly leveling up (and yes, we’re always ready to investigate).
Over in Harambe, Zuri’s Sweets Shop continues to churn out new goodies and classic favorites, and this time we set our sights on something that immediately caught our attention: the Mickey Strawberry Cereal Treat. We love a good cereal-based dessert, but we also know how quickly these can veer into dry, bland, or aggressively sweet territory. So, we grabbed one to see if this treat actually lives up to its picture-perfect vibe.
Mickey Strawberry Cereal Treat
The Mickey Strawberry Cereal Treat is priced at $7.99 before discounts, and yes, that price tag made us pause. But don’t worry, if you’ve got an Annual Pass, your discount brings it down to about $6.81, which feels a little more reasonable for a specialty cereal treat in Disney World.
So let’s talk about what this thing actually tastes like. Imagine a strawberry milk-flavored crispy rice treat meets a strawberries-and-cream dessert bar, and you’re pretty much on the right track. It’s incredibly soft for a cereal treat, with just enough crispy bite to remind you that yes, this is still a classic rice crispy base. Nothing tough or dry about it. In fact, the texture is one of the first things that won us over.
Now, here’s where things get a little messy (in a good way). The entire outside is coated in shortbread-style crumbles that add a subtly gritty texture and extra sweetness. They give you that bakery-style crumble layer that feels elevated, but they do have a mind of their own. A lot of them fell off while we were cutting into the treat, so be prepared for some crumbs. Also… let’s just say ours was sitting a little precariously on its stick, so take care when you’re posing it for snack-cam.
But once you get past the little avalanche of crumbs, the flavor really lands. It’s creamy, soft, and very strawberry-forward without veering into artificial territory. The vanilla notes round everything out so it feels like a full strawberries-and-cream moment rather than just “pink crispy treat.” If you enjoy any of the strawberry cereal-milk style desserts Disney has done in the past, you’ll probably love this one.
Is it worth $8? That depends. If you’re a die-hard strawberries-and-cream fan or love trying specialty treats shaped like Mickey, this will be an easy yes. The portion is solid, the flavor is well-balanced, and the texture is far better than your average cereal treat. If cereal treats aren’t usually your thing or you tend to prioritize more unique Animal Kingdom snacks, the price might feel a bit steep (even with the AP discount).
Still, Zuri’s Sweets Shop delivered something charming, flavorful, and fun, which is honestly all we ask from a themed park sweet. We walked away pleasantly surprised, and if they ever decide to make a whole line of strawberry-themed treats, we’d be first in line to try them.
