NEW Behind-the-Scenes Look at Disney’s Avengers Campus Expansion

Avengers Campus opened in Disney California Adventure back on June 4th, 2021. This Marvel-themed land features tons of attractions, dining, and entertainment to explore, but soon, there will be even MORE exciting things to experience.

Disney previously announced plans to expand Avengers Campus, and we just got a behind-the-scenes look at how Imagineers are bringing this expansion to life!

Walt Disney Imagineering recently shared a behind-the-scenes look at the Avengers Campus expansion and marked an important milestone: the canopy connecting the two new attractions, Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab, is being assembled!

You can see the large canopy in the background, framed with large metal poles. It’s so exciting to watch how Disney brings brand-new rides and experiences to life!

Disney has described Avengers: Infinity Defense as, “Technology that allows the Avengers to jump between worlds has gone missing, and King Thanos is using it to wreak havoc everywhere. Recruits will travel to iconic locations like Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City alongside the likes of big and small heroes. You also just might find yourself face-to-face with King Thanos, too.”

Avengers Infinity Defense

Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark in the Stark Flight Lab attraction, in which guests will “sit in two-person pods and deploy to a test station. Then a robot arm grabs your pod and starts whirling you around in a simulated flight.”

Disney hasn’t yet announced an expected opening date for the expansion, but we’ll keep a close eye out for any updates now that the construction is really ramping up. Stay tuned to DFB for all the latest news from Avengers Campus and beyond!
