Disney California Adventure’s Festival of Holidays is HERE, and we’re checking out everything it has to offer!
This annual event, which will be ongoing through January 7th, 2026, features festive decorations, lively entertainment, limited-edition merch, and plenty of Festive Foods Marketplaces (Food Booths). It is drawing in Disney fans from far and wide — including us! We’re checking out everything the Festival of Holidays has to offer…including some festival food offerings at the park’s restaurants!
We tried SO MANY holiday treats, meals, and drinks, and we have plenty of thoughts. Without further ado, let’s jump right in!
Paradise Garden Grill
First up, we headed over to Paradise Garden Grill and tried the NEW Tacos Dorados de Camarón for $14.49. This dish is made with two shrimp tacos fried to a golden brown, topped with zesty slaw, salsa roja, salsa macha, and crema, served with Spanish rice and refried beans.
The shrimp here was pretty tasty! Both of the salsas provided some nice spice, but most of the heat came from the salsa mocha. If you don’t have a good spice tolerance, this may not be for you. Still, you’ll get plenty of fresh flavors from this, especially with the slaw. The heat was the star here, but you still get nice and subtle natural flavors from the shrimp, rice, and beans. Overall, we liked this quite a bit!
We also tried the NEW Al Pastor Torta for $15.49. This dish is made with pineapple achiote-marinated pork with chorizo beans, avocado spread, tomatillo salsa, cilantro, and onions, served with tortilla chips.
This thing was huge! We definitely feel it’s a shareable meal, and one lots of folks will like. We loved the flavor of the grilled pineapples, al pastor, and chorizo, along with the salsa, which added a spice throughout. The avocado also added a cool, creamy flavor and texture, but it wasn’t prevalent throughout. The chips were just okay — nothing really to write home about. Some were crunchy and salty, while others seemed kind of stale. The torta, though, was certainly a star, and we quite liked it!
We also tried the Achiote Half Chicken for $19.49. This dish is made with roasted achiote-marinated chicken served with Spanish rice, refried beans, and nopal salad. It’s new for the festival but has been served in the park in the past.
Our favorite of the three, this dish offered incredibly juicy and tender chicken that came right off the bone! The skin had a peppery flavor from the achiote, but nothing too spicy. The Mexican rice was, unfortunately, a bit bland with a dry texture, but the beans had a nice creamy texture and a savory meat flavor. The salad was basic, yet tasty. Overall, each of these items was quite delicious and well worth the price, thanks to their serving sizes!
Outdoor Vending
At select outdoor vending carts at the park, you can pick up the NEW Mint Chocolate Chip Cotton Candy for $6.50!
The first thing you taste is cotton candy with a slightly minty aftertaste. However, we didn’t taste much chocolate, and the mint wasn’t overpowering either. With both flavors being quite light, this is still probably a safe bet for regular cotton candy enjoyers.
Smokejumpers Grill
Over at Smokejumers Grill, we tried the NEW Spicy Cajun Loaded Fries for $8.99 (Sip & Savor Pass-eligible)! These Cajun fries are topped with hot links, cheddar cheese, corn, and bell peppers.
WE LOVED THIS SNACK! First off, it’s a spicy one, so be ready for that. These fries are loaded with hot links, sautéed bell peppers, shredded cheese, corn cob tips, and drizzled with hot sauce (think hot wing sauce). The fries have Cajun seasoning, so prepare for tons of flavor! If you get everything all in one bite, it’s heaven.
We do wish it were served hotter so the cheese could melt better, and we thought the corn was too burnt. However, we definitely recommend trying this snack, as we were mostly impressed!
Rita’s Turbine Blenders
Our last stop was at Rita’s Turbine Blenders to try the NEW Hot Blueberry Cider for $7.79 (Sip & Savor-eligible)!
This non-alcoholic apple cider literally tasted like blueberry syrup in hot cider. It was super sweet and very blueberry-forward, so you definitely have to like blueberry flavoring to enjoy this drink. It will be too sweet for some and perfect for others, so give it a try and tell us which side you end up on! Of note, there is also a Bourbon Berry Elixir with similar ingredients, only with bourbon added in.
And there you have it! We’ll continue to cover the Festival of Holidays throughout the winter season, so stick with us here at the Disney Food Blog for all the latest festival coverage!
