Today marks a big day in EPCOT, as Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure has undergone major changes and is officially back open to ride. It was only closed for four days, but we are still happy that it is once again welcoming riders. We popped into EPCOT bright and early and beelined it straight to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
Disney announced that Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the France Pavilion would close from November 10th to 13th, 2025, to switch from 3D to 2D. New props and lighting will also be added to the queue and attraction over the upcoming months. Now that the attraction is back open, let’s see all the changes!
First, let’s take a look at the crowds! We usually see a spike in people when something new happens, so we weren’t surprised to see a ton of guests ready to ride. We rope-dropped EPCOT this morning, and when we got over to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, the wait time was already at 95 minutes. By 10:30 AM, the posted wait time was down to 60 minutes.
Once we got in and started through the queue, we didn’t notice any changes besides the area where you used to pick up 3D glasses is now solid or has a drape in front of it. We thought it looked a bit weird and empty, but maybe they will add something to the queue in this spot eventually. Even though the wait was posted at 95 minutes, it only took us a bit over 45 minutes to get onto the ride. Not bad at all.
Now onto the ride! We didn’t have to stop and pick up 3D glasses, which felt so odd! We kept thinking we were forgetting something, but nope, no more 3D means no more glasses. We boarded our rat and went through the streets of Paris. The ride itself is the same, except you no longer have 3D glasses. The scenes are all still the same, and we didn’t notice any other changes made to the ride during the short closure. The screens are crisp and sharp. Our photos don’t fully reflect that — it is hard to capture a moving screen well — but we promise the graphics look great in person.
Did we miss the 3D? It definitely felt different from how it used to be, but not necessarily in a bad way. It takes away a bit of the immersion when it feels like Remy is standing right in front of you or the champagne cork shoots towards your face, but the ride is still just as enjoyable without the 3D. For many, it will be more enjoyable as a fair number of people got motion sickness with the 3D. Even our reporter noted that they felt way better after riding this attraction in 2D.
Overall, we’re glad to have Remy’s back open, and while it felt weird to not grab our 3D glasses, we’re excited that Disney listened to guests and made changes to the ride. This isn’t the only EPCOT ride that is going to undergo changes! Frozen Ever After is getting new faces on its animatronics to look more like the movie. We saw what they’ll look like at Hong Kong Disneyland, and we’re so excited for the change to arrive in early 2026.
