We’re FINALLY aboard the Disney Destiny, Disney Cruise Line‘s newest ship, and we’re overwhelmed (in the best way) by how much there is to explore!
We’re taking you along with us as we explore all the decor on the ship, as well as the restaurants, entertainment, and everything in between, because we’ve NEVER seen theming like this before on a Disney cruise! The theme on the Destiny is Heroes and Villains, and when you board the ship, you’ll need to pick a side. Not only can you meet tons of heroes and villains onboard, as well as check out offerings inspired by both, but the staterooms are even designed to be inspired by them. We stepped into a Heroes stateroom for the first time and our jaws dropped — check it out!
Come with us to check out a Big Hero 6-themed Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah on the Disney Destiny!
This room is 243 square feet and sleeps three to four guests with a queen bed, a sofa bed, and a ceiling pull-down bed that can be accessed if a fourth guest is sleeping in the room.
Here’s a look at that queen bed, with a fun Disney Destiny blanket on it!
There’s also plenty of room under the bed for your suitcases, which is incredibly helpful when it comes to saving space.
Check out how gorgeous this Big Hero 6 art is! We love the San Fransokyo vibes it adds to the room.
Each side of the bed features a little nightstand with a drawer, a lamp, and plenty of outlets to charge your devices.
There is a decent amount of space in the “living area,” with a couch, a desk with drawers, a mirror, and lots of shelf space as well.
This is also where you’ll find the room’s hair dryer…
…and a little beverage refrigerator. It’s not huge, but it’s something!
This couch pulls out into a single bed that sleeps one (or two tiny kiddos who don’t mind sharing).
Right above the couch is where you’ll find the ceiling pull-down bed — just as your Stateroom Attendant if you need it set up!
Next to the couch is another large closet with storage options.
This type of stateroom features a verandah, complete with two chairs and a table — perfect for sipping coffee in the morning.
Back inside, the room features a split-style bathroom, with one door leading to the shower and vanity area.
Here’s a better look at the vanity!
And here’s the shower/tub combo that features totally-not-H2O-products on the wall.
And, of course, here’s the most important part of the room.
One of our favorite parts of the stateroom was the pump soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner!
However, there is also a bar of Sea Salt Bath Soap to use if you prefer bar soap.
We’ll be exploring more staterooms and suites as we spend time on the Disney Destiny! Make sure you keep following the Disney Food Blog for our full coverage of this brand-new ship!

I prefer the pull down murphy bed over the cubbie closet. If we have four adults, someone is not going to be happy about being on the top bunk.
