If you fired up Disney+ this weekend, maybe to watch your favorite Disney movie, Star Wars show, or perhaps to catch up on Only Murders In The Building on Hulu, you might have noticed that something BIG has changed.

The Disney+ app has changed! Ahead of Disney+ absorbing Hulu, we guess Disney decided some app updates were in order. So don’t be surprised if your Disney+ looks a little different. Let’s talk about these updates, though.
Disney+ has made some big changes to its app, which are starting to roll out to users RIGHT NOW. Once you get the update, you’ll notice that the home page looks a lot different. The biggest change is a new horizontal navigation bar with separate tabs for “For You,” Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN. Disney is promising more personalized recommendations, too, based on what you’ve watched in the past.

The new app interface also makes it easier to switch profiles, so that your kids can have their kids-appropriate programming on their profile, and adult content is for adult profiles. Disney dropped a video showcasing these new changes.
This new app design is part of Disney’s plan to completely bring Hulu into Disney+ in 2026. Once Hulu’s content merges with Disney+, we’re not sure if the Hulu tab will remain in the app or if all the programming will just get folded into the regular Disney+ programming on the app. Hulu + Live TV will eventually merge with Fubo, too, creating a Live TV experience that could rival YouTube TV, which Disney is currently in a dispute with over a carriage agreement (which is also why Disney has pulled its content from YouTube TV).
