Things are about to get really busy in the Disney World park, because it’s officially the holidays, baby!
We’ve seen seasonal merchandise out on the shelves, peppermint-flavored treats are soon to arrive, and holiday decorations are going up all over the place. But if you’re an Animal Kingdom fanatic, there’s one thing that the Christmas season brings that you won’t want to miss…the Tree of Life Awakenings!
For most of the year, the sun sets after Animal Kingdom closes for the day, meaning we don’t often get to see the park at night. Of course, with the recent time change, it’s now getting dark much earlier in the evening, and that means the Tree of Life Awakenings are back!
You’ll find showtimes posted on the Disney World website for this offering, and currently, it looks like they’re happening starting at 6:15 PM each night. This is a great way to end your night at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! The Disney World calendar isn’t showing any times after November 8th, but we’ll be on the lookout to see if that changes.
During the holiday season, the awakenings are winter- and holiday-themed, with a few different shows alternating throughout the night. You’ll witness various critters interacting with snowscapes or enjoying some winter fun, paired alongside stunning projections and beautiful music.
We’ll keep you in the loop with any more updates about these shows. They’re a great reason to stay until park closes at Animal Kingdom!
