You’ve spent tons of money on your Disney World tickets and hotel package, and even MORE on extras like Lightning Lane MultiPass to help you navigate your days in the parks smoothly and efficiently. You’ve planned almost everything perfectly down to the details — and then your phone battery dies, and instantly, panic ensues.

There’s a new FuelRod you’ve GOT to try!
But, I’m here to offer a solution, and it’s one that can be reused time and time again.
Get the FuelRod Max 10 Power Bank
If you’re like me and constantly glued to your phone while on vacation (taking photos, navigating the parks, keeping up with apps, or managing multiple devices), you already know the struggle of running down your battery at the worst possible moment. Enter the FuelRod Max 10, the latest model in FuelRod’s line of portable chargers. And yes, it’s a BIG upgrade from the old round rod model.
If FuelRod sounds familiar to you, that’s because they’ve been around Disney World’s parks for a while now. Their kiosks are peppered throughout Disney World’s parks and hotels, and their premise is simple. You can visit a kiosk to purchase a new Fuel Rod, AND swap them out for FREE when they’ve run out of power.
Sounds pretty simple, right? YES! They’re really that easy. And the initial kits you can purchase even come with multiple charging heads with miniature cords to get you up and running right away.
You could even take it a step further to say they’re even helpful during the rest of your vacation. We’ve spotted them around our local towns, airports, and even at Universal, where you can still swap out your FuelRod for a minimal fee per swap. They’re truly a lifesaver when you need to stay connected!
So when we noticed FuelRod had released a NEW model, we were delighted to check it out. The FuelRod Max 10 isn’t your old pocket-sized FuelRod. The Max 10 is a hefty, fully revamped charger packing 10,000 mAh of power and multiple charging ports.
There’s a battery life indicator on the side…
…a simple on/off button, and it even comes with magnetic charging capability, so you can magnetically attach it to your phone.
Oh, and the kicker? YES, you can STILL swap it for a fully charged one at Disney World for free, a convenience that alone makes it tempting for park-goers.
The Fuel Rod Max 10 is ideal for anyone who doesn’t want to risk a dead phone during the day. Families juggling multiple devices, self-proclaimed “memory makers” snapping endless photos and videos, or anyone who relies on their apps for directions, reservations, or park hacks will find them to be a lifesaver.
When you’re not looking to be tied to a cord while charging, using the magnetic charge feature means you can keep using your phone (even in light rain) without worry. FuelRod is a brand we’ve depended on for YEARS — LITERALLY! It’s proven to be a reliable brand of portable chargers (and a company that stands behind its products, given our track record of phone calls to customer service with questions), which gives you peace of mind knowing you won’t be hunting for an outlet after a long day in the parks.
Here’s where this one can get a little tricky, though. At $80 for the initial kit at a Disney World kiosk, it’s definitely an investment; it’s not exactly slim pocket-friendly, and even with big hands, wrapping around it while charging magnetically can be awkward. And be prepared for a difference in charging speed between when you’re charging with a cord versus the magnetic capabilities. In our experience, the magnetic charging might be a little slower than the other two.
Other portable chargers we’ve tested (and love equally) offer similar power capacity, but the swapability and convenience of the FuelRod Max 10 make it stand out for park visitors. You don’t have to worry about plugging it in overnight-just swap and go.
For now, the FuelRod Max 10 is only available for purchase at the kiosks inside the park. However, FuelRod has a whole line of portable chargers available online (and cheaper than you can snag them in the park!)
They’ve even got kits with multiples that can be brought into the parks and swapped as if you’d bought them right out of the kiosk initially!
Is it worth it? YES, if you value convenience, versatility, and never running out of power in the middle of your vacation day. The Max 10 delivers on capability and reliability, but its heft keeps it from feeling perfect. For my needs in the parks, it’s a solid 4.5 out of 5, and it’s quickly earning a spot replacing my other trusted portable chargers. If you’re prioritizing power and peace of mind over pocketability, this might just be the portable charger you didn’t know you needed.
