You know your meal is gonna be good when a Disney character comes over and tries to steal it. But first, let’s back up the story. Magic Kingdom‘s newest snack stand, AstroFizz, is now open in Tomorrowland, and it totally took us by surprise. First of all, the opening date was a surprise and delight, but the new menu items were surprisingly good, too!
After a soft opening on October 31st around 6 PM, AstroFizz is now open in Tomorrowland, though no hours are showing on the Disney World website or My Disney Experience app at this time. While you can grab classic Mickey bars and ice cream sandwiches here, as well as other frozen treats, you can find those at other stands around the park. Instead, we recommend one of the special snacks you can get here — and you know we tried them ALL right away!
We started off with the special dining option here, which is the Cherry Cola Churro for $7.49. This is a Churro rolled in Cherry Sugar, drizzled with Coca-Cola Cherry Icing, and topped with Cherry Popping Candies. COKE CHURRO! Fun fact — this snack stand is hosted by Coca-Cola, similar to the Ice Cold Hydraulics stand at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
OK, so admittedly, we are BIG Diet Coke fans around here. But can you take the classic Coca-Cola flavor and make it work with a churro? As you take a bite of this churro, we recommend savoring alllll the flavors together, because while it seems like there would be overwhelmingly cherry flavor, that’s not the case at all when you combine everything. The cola drizzle tastes like the cola hard candies our reporter used to have as a kid, and it’s amazing that you can experience the individual flavors of Cherry Coke by sampling around the plate.
It’s not overwhelming in terms of flavors at all — it has a delicious churro base with a flavor slightly more complex than vanilla and a tart cherry finish once everything is combined. While we do think it comes close to a Cherry Coke flavor, it’s not perfect, but that’s just fine by us. However, we warn you not to taste the Coca-Cola drizzle by itself, because it was a little bit strange to us on its own, despite the churro tasting delicious when all the flavors combine.
Then, there are four different flavors of Frozen Slushy for $6.49 each– Coca-Cola, Fanta Blue Raspberry, Fanta Orange, and Cherry, though Cherry currently isn’t listed on their physical menus or on the Disney website. That’s right — we got a BONUS SLUSHY, people.
These Slushy flavors are all very basic, but that’s not a bad thing! They all tasted exactly how they were supposed to, and we didn’t notice any issues. If you’ve ever had one of those slushies at the movies or Target (remember when Target used to have food?!), this will taste familiar. The frozen texture was on point, though it did take nearly an hour for us to be able to get these, because the machine was broken and needed to be fixed. Be warned that you may run into that issue on your trip.
Even though it wasn’t hot outside when we grabbed them, they do start to melt pretty quickly in the sun, so you’ll want to drink them relatively quickly (but not so quickly that you give yourself a brain freeze!). Overall, we’re a fan of this new location and look forward to seeing what other menu items they come up with!

I’m glad to see flavored churros may be coming to WDW. Disneyland has such a great variety: strawberry shortcake, maple, cookies and cream, peach cobbler, citrus. Please WDW! It can’t be that difficult to add a bunch of new flavors!
