Every year, October never fails to drop some massive Disney news bombs that have us shook. This October was no different.
Where to even begin? We saw updates on theme park construction progress, ride changes, and so much more. Honestly, Disney’s announcements in October quickly tired us out — but not enough to stop us from recapping some big news while highlighting one change that isn’t going to go over well with a majority of Disney fans…
First, let’s talk about some positives! Disney announced that Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT will close on November 10th, 2025, to add “enhanced digital visuals and clearer imagery projected in 2D,” as well as new props and lighting enhancements. That’s right — we’re saying goodbye to the 3D.
The ride will reopen pretty soon on November 14th with these changes. However, Disney World will continue to add new elements to the ride and its queue over the coming months. Similar changes are happening to the same ride at Disneyland Paris, which will also add a new scene in the queue that features a Parisian artist’s studio, complete with canvases, paint splatters, and a fruit basket.
Staying in EPCOT, Frozen Ever After is getting a LITERAL facelift! The animatronics will take inspiration from the animatronics seen at World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland — moving away from projected faces to feature a more true-to-film look.
The updates are expected to be completed by early 2026, and the ride is expected to close soon for this refurbishment/change.
The EPCOT announcements didn’t stop there. To celebrate America’s 250th birthday, Soarin’ is installing Soarin’ Across America at EPCOT and Disney California Adventure.
This new version will highlight some of the country’s natural beauty and iconic cityscapes beginning in the summer of 2026.
There were also several other announcements like merch updates and the reveal that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring The Muppets will open in the summer of 2026 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but we’ve taken the “good news first” approach far enough. The single biggest announcement Disney made in October was that prices are rising at both Disney World and Disneyland.
Yep. We’re used to seeing Disney raise prices in October each year. and this year was no different. The price hikes are EVERYWHERE. Both Disneyland AND Disney World got price increases — park tickets, dining, parking, you name it. Everything went up in price.
