If you or your kiddos were planning to watch Disney-owned channels, there has been an issue with streaming. Disney has disappeared from YouTube TV!

According to CNN Business, Disney and YouTube TV failed to reach an agreement before their deadline. The blackout means YouTube TV subscribers won’t be able to watch content from any Disney networks, including ESPN, ABC, Disney Channel, FX, National Geographic, and Freeform.
Disney and YouTube TV were meant to reach a new carriage agreement before October 30th, 2025. The companies have confirmed they are still in talks to reach an agreement; however, it is unclear when that will be.

In a statement to CNN, a Disney representative said, “Unfortunately, Google’s YouTube TV has chosen to deny their subscribers the content they value most by refusing to pay fair rates for our channels, including ESPN and ABC.” They continued to say, “Without a new agreement in place, their subscribers will not have access to our programming, which includes the best lineup in live sports — anchored by the NFL, NBA, and college football, with 13 of the top 25 college teams playing this weekend.”

In their own statement, YouTube shared, “Last week Disney used the threat of a blackout on YouTube TV as a negotiating tactic to force deal terms that would raise prices on our customers. They’re now following through on that threat, suspending their content on YouTube TV. This decision directly harms our subscribers while benefiting their own live TV products, including Hulu + Live TV and Fubo.“

YouTube continued to share that they know this is “frustrating and disappointing” while urging Disney to work “constructively” with the company. They also shared that if Disney’s content remains off of YouTube TV, they will offer their subscribers a $20 credit.

Both networks have been warning subscribers about the possible blackout for the week leading up to the cutoff. Disney told CNN, “We invest significantly in our content and expect our partners to pay fair rates that recognize that value.” While this is frustrating for YouTube TV subscribers, Disney content can still be streamed on Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+.

While we are sure the companies will eventually reach an agreement, it’s clear both seem to be standing firm as of October 31st.
