Taking a Disney Cruise soon? If so, you might be a little concerned about some upcoming weather issues caused by Hurricane Melissa, which is currently churning its way through the Atlantic Ocean. The hurricane is currently a Category 4 storm, but is forecast to intensify into a Category 5 storm soon.
Disney Cruise Line is staying on top of the hurricane situation, though, so if you’re cruising on the Disney Wish or Disney Treasure this week, you should have received confirmation from Disney recently that your ship’s itinerary has changed.
Travel agents and passengers with cruises booked on the Disney Treasure, departing on October 25th, and the Disney Wish, departing on October 27th, have received communication from Disney with details about changes to the itineraries.
The Disney Treasure’s original route included a stop at Tortola and St. Thomas. However, now, the ship will visit Cozumel, Mexico, on Tuesday and Castaway Cay on Thursday and Friday. Here’s the revised itinerary for that cruise:
- Saturday: Port Canaveral, Florida
- Sunday: Day at Sea
- Monday: Day at Sea
- Tuesday: Cozumel, Mexico (previously Tortola, British Virgin Islands)
- Wednesday: Day at Sea (previously St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands)
- Thursday: Disney Castaway Cay (previously Day at Sea)
- Friday: Disney Castaway Cay
- Saturday: Port Canaveral, Florida
Those with port adventures scheduled at Tortola and St. Thomas will have those removed from their onboard accounts. Port adventures for Cozumel and Castaway Cay can be booked onboard through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app or at the Port Adventures desk.
Those sailing on the October 27th Disney Wish cruise will receive a SeaMail with details about the route change. The revised itinerary for that sailing is as follows:
- Monday: Port Canaveral, Florida
- Tuesday: Disney Castaway Cay (previously Day at Sea)
- Wednesday: Nassau, The Bahamas
- Thursday: Day at Sea
- Friday: Port Canaveral, Florida
Any pre-reserved Port Adventures at Castaway Cay will be adjusted to fit the revised itinerary. All that’s changed with this route is that the Disney Wish is visiting Castaway Cay on a different day.
