Does anyone else get weirdly excited when a ride reopens in Disney World? We wanna know what changed! What’s new? Do the animatronics work better? Is there a new ride photo? We need ANSWERS. Well, the time has come — Spaceship Earth has FINALLY reopened at EPCOT! Let’s go back and thank the Phoenicians.

Spaceship Earth
The attraction closed in August for an extended refurbishment. The ride was set to reopen on October 25th (more on that in a second), and now that day is here. Let’s check it out!
OK, so even though the iconic attraction officially opened today, we must point out that Spaceship Earth had a soft opening seven days ago. So, we did get a chance to hop back on one of our favorite rides and explore the past, present, and future of human communication a little bit earlier than originally expected. During a soft-opening, though, the ride may not be open for the entire day, so now that the ride is fully open, things are back to normal.

It’s OPEN!
We wanted to see if the ride had any changes following its refurbishment. Overall, the ride seems mildly refreshed, and it seems like some of the animatronics are moving a little more fluidly. That usually comes with any sort of cleanup with a ride. We wanted to see if there’s anything we should keep an eye out for, so we asked a Cast Member. They told us that the attraction had just been given a little routine maintenance.

Inside Spaceship Earth
Disney never announced the ride’s soft opening earlier this week. The wait times were NOT posted on the Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app. Now that the set opening date has arrived, all times will be posted, and everyone will be aware that the attraction is back. We missed you, Sassy Scientist!

Spaceship Earth
EPCOT is feeling whole again with its centerpiece attraction back again (don’t worry; we’re not saying it’s better than Cosmic Rewind, but it is the centerpiece of EPCOT). We’re in full swing of the Food and Wine Festival, and the park is preparing for the holiday season. The next closure on the docket runs November 10th through 13th, when Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure closes for some BIG updates (the ride is going 2D!).

My family and I will be visiting WDW November 17-23rd and will be visiting Epcot on November 18th. Do you know why they are changing Remy to 2D? I think it is great as my 2 1/2yr old granddaughter won’t have to wear glasses to enjoy it, but am curious as to the reason behind the change
The time we rode it was 2018 and we swore never again. The campfire from the Indians smelled so awful and if covered us with the smell for the rest of the day.
Have they fixed that?
Thanks!!
