Trying to figure out which Disney World snacks are worth your time is like trying to figure out which of your kids is your favorite. Okay, okay, it’s probably slightly easier than that (and we do not recommend picking a favorite child, for what it’s worth).
Luckily, that’s what we’re here for at DFB! We are the Disney FOOD Blog, after all. Right now, pistachios are having a huge moment in the snack world, and that trend has made its way to Disney World. Come with us to review a new pistachio treat at Disney Springs!
We stopped by Vivoli il Gelato at Disney Springs to check out the new Pistachio Gelato Croissant, which you can pick up for $10.75. This is a buttery croissant filled with Pistachio Gelato made from Italian Bronte pistachios, drizzled with pistachio cream, and topped with crushed pistachios. Pistachios are having a moment right now, and it’s easy to see why.
This was such an interesting treat! The croissant was flaky and baked well, and the gelato was, of course, super creamy and soft. The gelato has a pretty strong taste of pistachio, so this is definitely a treat for pistachio lovers — if you’re on the fence, we’d probably choose something else. There are about three scoops of the gelato in there, so there’s plenty to share. The gelato was a bit icier than we’re used to with ice cream, but it was still nice and smooth.
It was also MUCH easier to eat than we thought it would be. The bottom was soaked with ice cream by the time we finished taking photos, but the treat was easy to dig your spoon in and get everything you needed to. We weren’t huge fans of the green pistachio sauce on top — it was a bit on the artificial side and was very, very strong. But we appreciated the crunch of the crushed pistachios on top. All combined together, though, this was a really unique and tasty treat.
We’ll be on the lookout for more fun pistachio desserts you need to check out at Disney World and beyond. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney snack reviews and more!
