Planning to spend the holidays in Disney World this year? We totally get it, and so many people have the same idea, which is what makes it one of the most popular times of year to visit.
If you’re an Annual Passholder or someone else without a date-based ticket that requires a park pass to get into the parks on most days (other than Good To Go dates for APs), we recommend making those park passes well in advance. That’s for a number of reasons, but mostly because those spots can fill up FAST! Now, we have proof of that, because while it may only be October, park passes are already beginning to sell out for Christmas Day.
When checking the Disney World park pass availability calendar, park passes are sold out for regular theme park tickets for Christmas Day! This means that there are now two days Magic Kingdom is no longer available for theme park ticket park passes, because, as we previously reported, New Year’s Eve is also unavailable.
Additionally, those staying at Select Resort Hotels are also blocked from Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, but when it comes to Annual Passholder availability, things get interesting. Those with a Disney World Inredi-Pass still have full availability to book for all of December, but all three other passes are blocked out for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Now, don’t feel like all hope is lost just yet if you don’t have a park pass reservation yet! We suggest booking your tickets still and getting a park pass reservation for another park. You’ll need to tap into that park first during the day, but then you can park hop to Magic Kingdom. It’s important to keep in mind, though, that you may have to wait outside the entrance gate and be held there until a certain number of guests exit the park, as Disney does still have to keep capacity in mind.
It’s also possible that park pass availability will change, so keep checking back!
