Disney just gave us a HUGE hint at something new coming!

Disneyland
Disneyland’s under a massive glow up lately between it’s Fall celebrations and new experiences in progress. While there’s already a lot to be excited about on the horizon, it seems that Disney isn’t ready to let up on the momentum just yet and might have another surprise for us up its sleeve!
Disneyland is already packed with tons of shows, rides, attractions, and character meet and greets to keep us busy for days, but it seems like they’re cooking up something new for us to enjoy very soon. Disneyland in California, as the original Disney park, holds a special place in our hearts, but that doesn’t mean we’re not willing to make more room for things as the park continues to grow and evolve.

Storytellers at Disneyland
We recently noticed that Disney has just put out a brand new casting call for an upcoming Disneyland park show. While there’s not much to go on in this casting call about the show, we’re able to pick apart a few things it might contain based on the type of performers they’re looking to cast in it!

At the top of the casting call, you’ll see that Disney Live Entertainment is looking to cast “improv actors, vocalists, dancers, and musicians” with this open call. It also goes on to note that candidates for these roles will need to be comfortable engaging with children, again with strong improvisational skills, while also being able to connect with a young audience.

A total of four uniquely outlined female presenting characters and three male presenting characters are what Disney is currently looking for to fill this cast. In order to be considered if you’re thinking of applying, you must be 18 years old, authorized to work in the U.S., and be willing to comply with Disney’s grooming guidelines and employee standards. Disney appears to be accepting submissions for these jobs through October 14th PT.

Additionally, it appears we could see a small band along with this new show. The casting also appears to be looking for musicians with saxophone/woodwinds, trombone, drums/percussion, trumpet, and acoustic guitar backgrounds. Taking a closer look at each musician specific requests for styles of music including jazz, rock, folk, pop, and musical theater along with the ability to blend with an ensemble are ideal.

If you think this could be a perfect fit for you, submissions for musicians will be accepted through October 17th PT.
While we’re sure there’s still a lot to be discovered with this new show, it does sound exciting for Disney to be looking for a larger cast WITH a live band to enhance the performance. We’ll be certain to keep a keen eye out for additional updates, so be sure to stay tuned with us right here at DFB!
