Heads Up! The Opening of a NEW Texas Theme Park May Be Delayed

Texas seems to be a new HOT spot for theme parks, and even Universal is building its Universal Kids Resort there, which is set to open in 2026.

Even experts think more theme parks will be coming to Texas soon. One that’s currently under construction is Cotaland, a theme park located in Austin, TX, near the Circuit of The Americas racing circuit. Well, that theme park was supposed to open in October, but now it seems that its opening may be delayed.

According to Chron, Cotaland had plans to have the park open in time for the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix in October. However, it now seems like the park might not open until 2026. Once it is completed, though, Cotaland will have more than 30 rides across 30 acres, including the first tilt coaster, Circuit Breaker, in Texas. This will also be Austin’s first major roller coaster.

Other rides that are in the works include an infinity roller coaster, Palindrome, which will cost around $5 million to build, as well as a flume ride. Cotaland has shared teasers of other rides coming to the parks on social media, but hasn’t confirmed anything else beyond that.

Cotaland has been sharing progress on its social media of these three rides, but the theme park has not yet revealed a definitive opening timeline. In the meantime, a real estate developer in the area is looking to build a 1,000-room hotel and convention center next to the Circuit of the Americas racetrack.

Meanwhile, a new record-breaking dive coaster is coming to Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, and Universal Kids Resort is under construction in Frisco.
