What is going on in Disney World?

Main Street, U.S.A.
The parks are ever-changing, with a total of 4 brand-new lands in development right now. It’s also spooky season with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in full swing. We love this time of year for many reasons, but lately, there’s been one more reason we are loving heading to Magic Kingdom park!
Over the last few days, we have been rope-dropping Magic Kingdom park to check out crowds, wait times, and more. This time of year traditionally means pumpkin spice, costumes, and crowds, but lately, those Magic Kingdom mornings have been pretty quiet!

A sparse Main Street
If you don’t know, rope dropping is when you head to the parks before they open so you can be some of the first people in line for popular attractions. This tends to be the best way to save time (and money) on the popular theme park if you’re an early riser. Rope dropping tends to get us 2-3 good rides before times start going up, but this week, things have stayed low longer than normal!

Space Mountain!
This time of year is the best time for low crowds and low prices! During our tests this week, wait times have stayed low for roughly 2 hours in the morning before things really start to pick up. We even spotted a 13-minute Haunted Mansion wait time today! (If you don’t know, that means it’s a walk-on.)

13 Minutes!
The crowds tend to appear later in the day during this time of year as the ghosts and ghoulies start appearing for those late-night Not-So-Scary parties! These extra ticketed parties take place after hours, plus you can wear costumes, spot rare characters, and try limited-time treats as you dance the night away.

No wait for Space Mountain this week!

Wondering if this has to do with ABC / Disney boycotts? Or is it typically so quiet this time of year?
We are headed to Disney World in early November, just before Veterans Day. How are the crowds typically during that time? We were just wondering since this is our first time going during that particular time of year. Thanks!
With all the construction currently underway rope dropping is the least of my concerns. Universal Studios should be however. Their parks are going to be over run between now and the end of 2026.
I’m at the Universal Parks this week, and it feels like all of the guests are here!
I believe it’s the economy and inflation that is keeping people from going to the parks. Not to mention, Disney has priced out a lot of people over the last 5 years. It’s just no in the budget for a lot of people now. But I also think it is because most kids are in school right now, so there is no time for park visits or vacations. Our family is going the week of Thanksgiving due to school schedules. So I am curious as to see how large or small the crowds will be.
I have to drive through downtown and I. 4. Is awful…
