Leaving Disney World after a magical trip can be pretty sad. While you might be looking forward to sleeping in your own bed, it is hard to beat crunching on buttery popcorn while walking down Main Street, U.S.A., or spending your evening strolling around World Showcase. Not only are you leaving the most magical place on Earth, but you are also traveling back home.
Travel can be stressful and overwhelming, but there are some ways to make the trip back home a bit easier. If you are traveling back home through Orlando International Airport (MCO), you should know about a FREE service that can save you time in security.
Although this service has been around for a while, many people don’t know it exists. The service, called MCO Reserve, allows you to reserve a time to go through airport security. The best part is that it is completely free, and you can book your time slot up to 7 days in advance!
MCO Reserve is available at all three terminals; however, not all flights are eligible for MCO Reserve. To find out if your flight is eligible and to book your time, you can head to the MCO Reserve website to enter your flight details. Once you have found your flight, you will select how many passengers are in your group (up to a maximum of 10 passengers per booking). Then, you will select your time slot. You will get a 15-minute window on either side of your time slot to arrive. After selecting the time slot, you will enter your email address and then confirm the booking.
You will receive a QR code to present at the MCO Reserve entrance during your arrival window, saving you time in security. Just look for the MCO Reserve sign or ask one of the airport employees to point you in the right direction. Keep in mind that you will likely still be waiting a bit in security, but with MCO Reserve, you will likely be waiting much less than you would in the normal line. You will still go through the standard TSA screening process, but with the separate entrance, you will be able to avoid a lot of the security crowds.
The service is easy to book, free, and can save you time and stress at the airport. You won’t have to fight through the normal security line, but instead you can enjoy access to the MCO Reserve entrance during your window. There are limited slots each day, but you can book your slot up to seven days before your flight. This can be a great option if you don’t have TSA PreCheck to help expedite your family through security.
If you choose to use MCO Reserve, you will still want to give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport, check any bags, and get through security. While MCO Reserve can save you time in security, you don’t want to be cutting it too close to your flight’s departure. We love taking advantage of MCO Reserve to save some time and stress while going through airport security. It is super easy to book and makes security feel so much easier to get through!
