If you are reading this post while hungry, BE WARNED. Seriously, we’re not joking! You’re willing to keep reading? OK, well then — we’ve got some DELICIOUS details to share with you!
The 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has officially opened, and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you; we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — the China booth— to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out!
Menu
Over at the China booth, you’ll find a variety of available items. We’ve got some returning classics, like the Chicken Dumplings and the Smoked Duck Bao Bun. There’s also a new contender in the noodle category, the Beijing Zhajiang Noodles.
This is also a solid offering of beverages, including some beer, cocktails, and mocktails! The returning Baijiu Punch, Mango Peach Bubble Tea, Brew Hub Lychee Foo Draft Beer are joined by some new drinks this year: the Hainan Prosperity Cocktail and the Frozen Strawberry-Jasmine Cocktail are both new options this year.
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
The Smoked Duck Bao Bun with hoisin sauce is back for $8.25. Last year, we found this one to be fairly gamey and chewy, so how does it fare this year? This is always a solid staple for the China booth, but we couldn’t call it a festival fave. The bao bun is light and fluffy. Inside, the hoisin sauce adds a nice sweetness, while the duck has a rich, savory note. But the smokiness of the duck isn’t really there, and the pickled cucumber doesn’t work so well with the sauce. The duck is also on the gamier side. This is still a tasty dish that’s pretty safe, but it doesn’t blow our minds.
New this year are the Beijing Zhajiang Noodles for $8.50. We’ve enjoyed the noodle dishes at this booth year after year, so we’re excited to try these! The Beijing Zhajiang Noodles are served with stir-fried minced beef, cucumber, chili, and carrots in a savory douban sauce. This was much better than the bao. The noodles are saucy, comforting, and is bringing the best kind of takeout vibes. The sauce is savory with a deep soy flavor, while the beef adds a salty punch. Overall, it’s oily and indulgent, and we think this is one of those dishes you could reheat later and still love.
The Pan-fried Chicken Dumplings with house-made sweet-and-spicy sauce are up for grabs again this year for $5.75. These are returning items, and last year we thought they were very similar to any other dumplings you would get from your local Chinese restaurant.
They’re slightly sticky to eat, but might be a good crowd-pleaser for those who’ve enjoyed dumplings in the past.
Drinks
You’ll pretty much always find a Bubble Tea at the China Booth, but the flavor changes every year. This year, you can try the Mango Peach Bubble Tea for $8.25.
Next up is the Baijiu Punch for $14.50. Though the name may strike you as a new cocktail, this drink has simply undergone a name change from “ByeJoe Punch.” Instead of opting for the play on words, the name now more clearly points to the Baijiu spirit used in the drink, which is mixed with lychee syrup, sparkling water, and piña colada mix.
The end result is a surprisingly tropical sip, with a definite emphasis on the coconut.
There are two new cocktails on the menu this year.
Hainan Prosperity is made with Tequila, vodka, Minute Maid Orange Juice, and mango syrup for $14.50. Okay, we’re going to just say it — this is one of our favorite drinks at the festival. It’s light. It’s fruity. It’s refreshing without being super alcohol-heavy. The acidity of the orange juice cuts through the sweetness, so it’s SO easy to drink. Also, it goes GREAT with the noodles!
You can also try the Frozen Strawberry-Jasmine Cocktail made with Light rum, jasmine tea, and strawberry syrup for $14.25. This drink leans heavily on the strawberry. It’s icy and sweet, but we can’t really taste the jasmine tea. This is more like a strawberry slushy with a kick.
However, this is a great cocktail for anyone with a sweet tooth or who love strawberry, but if you’re hoping for that hint of floral tea flavor, you’re out of luck.
Finally, guests looking to try a beer here can purchase the Brew Hub Lychee Foo Draft Beer for $6 for 6oz. or $10.75 for a larger pour.
OVERALL
So overall, this booth is satisfying, but it really does play it very safe, especially with the bao bun that we believe is pretty forgettable. However, we think the noodles and the Hainan Prosperity cocktail are good enough reasons to make a stop here. Overall, it’s a family-friendly booth with crowd-pleasing flavors.
That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from!
