Disney’s Pop Century Hotel Will Look Totally Different In Just One Month

Disney World is seeing a lot of construction from theme parks to resorts.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has construction walls in the lobby for the new birdcage bar that is coming! Disney’s Animal Kingdom has walls up for Tropical Americas’ construction, while Magic Kingdom has the Rivers of America drained to begin construction for the new Cars area, Piston Peak. But, there’s another popular resort that we can add to this list that is seeing some construction.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort is getting its rooms refurbished, but Disney also recently announced that the hotel is getting some work done on its lobby. The Disney World website indicates that the construction will last from July 28th through October.

That means in a few weeks, we could see a totally different lobby here at Pop Century! The lobby at Disney’s Pop Century “will be getting a retro-inspired refresh.” The lobby will remain open during this time, although you may see and hear construction. All hotel amenities will also be available.

The rooms at Pop Century are also undergoing some updates: that work started in March and won’t be completed until February 2026. We’re not sure what this renovation will entail because these rooms look the same as the other value resorts. We’d love to see this whole super colorful retro theme in the rooms, too.

In March 2025, we saw Everything Pop Food Court get an upgrade with bright, retro colors and new furniture. Could this be the theme that will overtake the lobby and the rooms? We will have to wait to see what Disney has up their sleeve.
