Mexico Pavilion
In the last decade+, two major additions to the World Showcase have altered how many approach their visit to the Mexican Pavilion. Even I, who without fail headed to Mexico first over my first 30 years visiting EPCOT, have rethought my strategy.
The first came in 2009 with the opening of La Cava del Tequila within the pavilion. Offering over 200 tequilas, top-shelf cocktails, as well as a selection of Mexican beer and wine, this bar has become a go-to spot for many Disney Adults, especially those planning to “Drink Around the World.”

The second came in 2019, when Disney opened the Skyliner gondola system, which included a station at the International Gateway near the park’s French pavilion. While this secondary entrance had existed for decades, the addition of the new transportation system made it a much more viable entrance for thousands of guests to use each day.

The combination of La Cava’s popularity and the increased use of the International Gateway entrance near France due to the Skyliner has led to many Disney Adults making Mexico their final stop of a trip around the World Showcase, often involving a nightcap/celebratory final drink of tequila at the pavilion.
