Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE going to Disney World. That being said, there is one thing that will have me hesitant for a Disney day!

Magic Kingdom
It may be a weird reason, but I just can’t do Disney World in a group of three. If you give me a chance, I can explain, and you’ll probably see why!
Disney World is always a good time. Whether I’m strolling through Main Street at Magic Kingdom, exploring the galaxy at Hollywood Studios, adventuring in Animal Kingdom, or diving into cultures at EPCOT. It’s even better when you go with friends and family, experiencing the magic together.

Main Street!
However, groups of three are just a NO for me. I just don’t like having to split up on two-seater rides, which genuinely take up most of my favorite rides at all four of the parks.

TRON Lightcycle/Run
If you think about it, it’s really an awkward lose-lose situation. You discuss in a group who is sitting alone, and who gets to ride with each other. On the flip side, you try to be nice and take one for the team — but then you end up riding almost everything alone.

Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster
So we got to the point where you end up sitting alone — NOW you have to deal with the fomo of sitting alone. I can’t be alone in that, right?! Thinking about how the rest of your party is experiencing the ride together, and you’re just not there. I mean, one of my favorite rides at EPCOT is Spaceship Earth…that’s 15 minutes of fomo!

Spaceship Earth
Honestly, it gets even worse with two rides specifically — Toy Story Mania and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. Um…I either end up playing against myself or playing against a stranger. Don’t get me wrong, I love meeting a fellow Disney fan at the park, but we can’t deny that it can just get awkward.

Toy Story Mania
It gets even worse when you’re sitting with that stranger, and they really aren’t into the ride as much as you are. You can’t even make the competition a real competition. I don’t want to just start yelling at this random person, telling them “I got the best score in the vehicle,” or “Make sure to do these Toy Story Mania hacks!” It’s just harder to get into it.

Toy Story Mania
I LOVE Expedition Everest, like a lot — but do I scream on it beside a stranger? Do I throw my hands up? Do I look at them? I DON’T KNOW!

Everest!
All in all, going with a group of three isn’t fully ideal. Come to think of it…could the same be said about every odd number?! Whatever, I’ll always take a Disney day no matter what! Make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more Disney-related content!

I don’t actually mind sitting alone, but that doesn’t necessarily make going to Disney World in a group of 3 any easier. There’s still the “Who’s going to sit alone” discussion for every ride. And there’s another consideration you didn’t mention, which is that despite what cast members try to tell you, 3 adults don’t really fit comfortably into a single Doom Buggy. Or a clamshell in the Little Mermaid ride. Or in the same flying pirate ship on Peter Pan. We tried that once, and I ended up sitting sort pf sideways with all of my weight on my hip, which was sore for hours afterward. I don’t recommend that at all.
As a family of 3, we always have to split up on those 2 seater rides. Obviously when he was small, he always had to sit next to one of us but now he’s an adult it’s all change.
My son loves being alone on Buzz Lightyear. He knows all the hacks so part way through when he’s scored 999,999 he slides over to the spare seat and gets the same score again with the second blaster.
He offered to sit on his own when he first went on GOTG too. (It was our 3rd time on it as we’d been just the 2 of us on other trips.) A stranger was put next to him. He came off laughing his head off because of the 2 very different styles of riding. He sang along to “September” whilst his travel partner screamed his head off for the full ride!
Ha ha ha…Uncool guys…uncool, we’re a family of three and we think NOTHING of it! What is the alternative? NOT GO TO DISNEY? No thanks!! Also when we travel with my sister and niece we are 5 and it’s the same deal! We have a fun time playing “who is sitting with who” and it’s high stakes as my niece likes to flip it on us at the last minute. It makes waiting in line go a little faster…
