Do you have a countdown going till the start of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival? No? Just me?
If you’re just as excited as I am to run around EPCOT trying new foods and menus, then sit back and grab a pen because we got to try a menu item before the festival starts, and we’re bringing all the details to you.
We tried the Kirschwasser Torte, which will be at the Alps booth. This is new to the festival this year and is made with cherry-brandy buttercream, fondant, sugared almonds, and cherry compote.
As soon as we got that first bite, we were in love. There were eight layers of perfect icing, and the sugared almonds on top provide a great crunch. When you get a bite of everything, there’s a great balance between the tartness and the sweetness. It’s not too sweet or has too much icing, and it really has such a nice balance between all the elements. We can’t wait to try this at the booth this year!
Also at the Alps booth, you can try the Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese and Alpine Ham with baby potatoes, cornichons, and a baguette. There’s also a version without the ham. Both are returning favorites and part of the Emile’s Fromage Montage, the cheese crawl, where if you try five, you get an additional snack for free!
You can also try the Frozen Rosé, which is returning, and there will also be the new Stiegl Brewery Goldbräu Austrian Märzen Lager.
We also got a sneak peek at some of the other dishes coming to the festival, and we’re eating it up (literally!).
Take a look at the souvenir cup coming!
There are chicken wings to try, too! You can find these at the Brew-Wing Lab inside the Odyssey Building.
Whether you go sweet or savory, there are so many dishes to try at the festival.
The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival runs from August 28th to November 22nd, and we’re ready to try it all. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for full menu reviews and all the details you need to make Food & Wine the best festival yet.
