A part of the wild animal world of Zootopia is AMLOST HERE, Disney World fans.
After literal years of blue sky fantasizing, we officially know when a Zootopia attraction is opening at Animal Kingdom! While it’s not the clone of the Shanghai Disneyland Zootopia that some were hoping for, it’s still a brand-new attraction set in the world.
The new attraction, Zootopia: Better Zoogether, is replacing the It’s Tough to Be a Bug attraction in the center of Animal Kingdom. According to Disney, the new film will take guests “on an adventure through different biomes seen in the film.”
Zootopia: Better Zoogether will officially open on November 7th. The all-new 4D show (minus the bugs that poked you in the back in the old show) begins when you arrive at the main stage just in time for Zoogether Day festivities, where you’ll spot some new and familiar faces, including Heidi Howler, a wolf who hosts the Zoogether Day LIVE! broadcast. Here’s a first look at this new character.
Here’s how Disney describes the attraction: “Zoogether Day, a celebration of unity amongst the diverse biomes across the city, will be recognized with special performances such as ice-skating spectaculars from the heart of Tundratown! Synchronized swimming direct from Marsh Market! Tiny mouse drone shows soaring over Little Rodentia! And of course, a musical finale by superstar Gazelle – all of which we’ll see from the livestream watch party.”
Yes, there really will be ice skating….
…AND yes, there will be synchronized swimming.
The tiny mouse drone show also sounds pretty exciting!
Okay, that sounds like so much fun. Of course, expect to see and hear some familiar faces and voices. Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman are returning as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, plus filmmakers Jared Bush and Byron Howard worked closely with Imagineering to bring this new attraction to life. But more importantly, Shakira is returning as Gazelle for the big finale.
We’ll be there on day one to get you a first look at the new attraction, so stay tuned to DFB for further updates on Animal Kingdom’s transformation.

What a shame to get of a Bugs Life! Such a classic and was the cutest show! Not a Zootopia fan so this is a bummer for me.
It may be a brand new attraction but it’s not an additional attraction. It’s just replacing yet another attraction. I will miss It’s Tough to Be a Bug; I really liked that show. But since I don’t plan on ever stepping foot on Disney property again due to the destruction of RoA, in my mind the old show can still exist. Disney is not at all what it used to be and that’s a real shame.
So excited see this new Zootopia show! This passholder is making Animal Kingdom reservations next!
While I enjoyed Bugs Life 6 or 7 times, each time there was at least one terrified, screaming child.
Yes!! I’m so excited that I’ll get to watch the new Zootopia movie on my next trip. I thought I’d have to wait until next spring, so this is great news!
I wondered when all of you Na-Sayers would show up. First all we heard about was how bad Bugs Life was and how Disney needs to get rid of it. So they did and now all are say how bad it is to get rid of Bug Life. Disney should have kept Bug Life and build a new show place for Zootopia . You all complain about how much Disney cost you think building a new show place is going to come out of TinkerBells magic dust, The cost of everything is going to double and more in the next months and you want a new show place. Come on life changes and all Disney Parks will keep changing, As one historian said “you cannot please all the people” . Well every time Disney does something it shows up in bulk. I enjoyed Bug Life and now have great “Memories”. Which is what the park are for. i am glad Zotopia is finally getting a place in Animal Kingdom, I think they should have done it years ago and not put in Avatar land. Blue flying people just does not fit in AK. OOH now all the fan there can jump up and down. Only to prove that “you cannot please all the people”.
Darn im.going to animal kingdom on the 6th and i love zootopia
I liked bugs life, however, this needed a rebrand/refresh! I welcome this change and I am excited to see this.
