It is a FANTASTIC time to be a fan of Pixar’s Cars.

Why? Well, you’ve got a WHOLE land to enjoy in Disney California Adventure with a new Cars expansion coming soon to Magic Kingdom in Disney World. But there’s another reason that it’s a good time to be a Cars fan. A brand NEW Cars series is on its way soon!
Disney Jr. just unveiled some brand NEW shows aimed at kids ages 2 through 5. One of those shows is Cars:Lightning Racers, which is, of course, inspired by the Cars movies. Both Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy will be returning to their roles of Lightning McQueen and Mater.

They’re not the only voice actors returning to their roles, though. Tony Shalhoub is back as Luigi, Cheech Marin will be voicing Ramone, Bob Peterson will return as Chick Hicks, and John Ratzenberger will reprise his role as Mack. Joining them will be Leah Lewis and Yuri Lowenthal as Pipes and Miles PLUS Sheryl Lee Ralph will voice a new character, Ms. Blinker.

The series “follows Lightning McQueen as he gears up for all-new adventures in Radiator Springs alongside his hilarious best friend Mater and new friends thrill-seeking drag car Pipes and mud-loving monster truck Miles.” Expect it to debut on Disney Jr. and later on Disney+ in 2027.
Other new shows announced for Disney Jr. include Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends, the first-ever preschool Avengers series, and two new seasons of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+.
