If there’s anything consistent about Disney World these days, it’s that you’re going to see a lot of construction…well…everywhere. Major construction is happening in three out of the four parks, and we’re seeing a lot of construction at Disney World hotels, too.
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Now, a lot of Disney World hotels have been getting room upgrades recently. Not to be left out, it seems that Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will also soon be getting refreshed rooms. Here’s what we know.
If you’ve ever stayed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, you’ll understand what we mean when we say this hotel is BEAUTIFUL. Plus, it has some fun rooms with animal themes that are a delight to stay in. Here’s what the rooms currently look like in this hotel.

Well, at least some of those rooms seem to be set for an update. A message on the Disney World website has informed us that rooms at Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge will be undergoing refurbishment from October 2025 through May 2026, followed by refurbishment at Jambo House from May 2026 through January 2027. Now, considering the timeframes involved, that sounds like a pretty big refurbishment.

Note that there’s ongoing construction happening on the Zebra Trail terrace that began in July and is scheduled to end in September 2025. So if you’re staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, it’s likely you may see and hear some construction during the day. However, all amenities will remain available at the hotel.

Disney has not yet revealed what the updated rooms might look like, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for more news about these room refurbishments, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

Well I guess that means higher prices.
I am excited for the animal kingdom lodge updates 🙂 Hopefully they add the murphy beds to the DVC studios/villas. I do love the African theming but maybe they could lighten it up a little bit? Rooms seem dark and dated.

More light and walk in showers. Getting to old.
I’m staying at Kidani Village in December, and I’m really hoping to get a refurbished room with a Murphy bed instead of a fold bout sofa bed.
In my opinion this is one of the worst places to stay at Disney World. Transportation is only by buses (like All Stars, only much more expensive), quick service is terrible, and the walk to your room can longer than an expensive hotel should be. The restaurants are just okay. It’s just not worth the cost to stay there.
