Spooky season is HERE, and you know what that means– it means Magic Kingdom now has its Halloween makeover (ALL the Mickey pumpkin wreaths and we’re obsessed), and new food and snacks are now in the parks.
But even MORE importantly, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has just begun for the season, and the party brings EXCLUSIVE food and drinks to Magic Kingdom. Now, we were at the first party trying all the new treats, but we’ve also already reviewed a lot of the returning items, so here is our massive review of those!
Casey’s Corner is bringing back the Chipotle Barbecue Pork and Street Corn French Fries, which are French fries topped with fire-roasted corn, queso fresco, jalapeño ranch, and cilantro. These are classic Disney fries, but the toppings take them up a notch. You also get a good topping per fry ratio, and honestly, these could seriously be a meal.
You can also get the Chipotle Barbecue Pork and Street Corn Mini Corn Dogs, which are Mini corn dogs topped with fire-roasted corn, queso fresco, jalapeño ranch, and cilantro. We didn’t love this as much as the fries, but the flavors with the topping are delicious. The pork is tender and the queso fresco is OH, so creamy (plus you get a lot — and you know we love the cheese). Both of these snacks have a bit of spice, but trust us, it’s not overwhelming.
Over at Aloha Isle, you can grab the DOLE Whip Mango and Chamoy Float, made with DOLE Whip Mango, pineapple juice, chamoy, and chili-lime seasoning. It’s a little sweet, a little spicy, and a lot delicious. Now, the chamoy and chili-lime seasoning aren’t overpowering. Instead, they add a nice balance to the sweetness of the mango and pineapple. Our only complaint is that we wish there were more of both.
Head on over to Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe to rustle up the Grilled Masa Flatbread, a Grilled corn cake topped with braised chicken, butternut squash puree, cilantro-pumpkin seed sauce, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, and queso fresco. This is a DELICIOUS flatbread that reminded us a lot of a taco with a bunch of toppings, but in flat form. We also loved that it was on a grilled corn tortilla vs. the usual flour tortillas you get at Pecos Bill. Bonus? When we had it before, we were told this could be made vegan.
You’ll also be able to get the Chocolate-Caramel Tart. This is a Chocolate tart shell filled with chocolate ganache, caramel sauce, and caramel cream, topped with TWIX cookie bar pieces and a chocolate piece. This cute treat basically tastes like a Twix bar, so if you like Twix, this one is a must. But you need to eat it fast because it melts and becomes a mushy mess pretty quickly.
The Madame Leota Séance Candle at Sleepy Hollow is a push pop-style dessert made with Red velvet cake and cookies and cream mousse. This is a very sugary treat that we found a little on the dry side. The mousse is whipped but VERY sweet. The crunchy pearls are nice and add texture. Also, as you push up, the dessert has a tendency to want to fall out, so eat it fast.
You can also grab the Jack Pop, which is a Chocolate fudge brownie with marshmallow filling topped with a chocolate piece. This cute dessert wasn’t exactly all that. It comes out cold, but the cake is still soft. The flavor reminds us of German chocolate. The cake is dry, though, so it’s a no from us.
Of course, you also have to try the Sally Pop, made with Yellow cake with raspberry filling, topped with a chocolate piece. This cake was also dry, and that black frosting stains your teeth and hands. The cake has a good flavor but could use more of the raspberry filling. That filling helps cut through the sweetness of the cake. You can also grab both of these pops at Liberty Square Market.
In Fantasyland, be sure to go by Friar’s Nook and order the macabre Bowl of Bones. This is actually Pork wings fried with jalapeños and tossed in barbecue sauce made with Cherry Coca-Cola. These have a smoky tasting meat, although the first taste you get is sweet, followed by the spiciness of the jalapeños. These make for a great snack, but the portion size is a little small for a meal. They do pack some heat, so you’ve been warned.
Friar’s Nook also has the Buffalo Chicken Hand Pie, made with Buffalo chicken and mozzarella wrapped in a flaky dough, topped with blue cheese crumbles and buffalo-ranch. We absolutely love this snack. The buffalo is nice and spicy, and the blue cheese powder is a nice accompaniment. The hand pie itself is flaky and soft, while the chicken inside is tender. Then there’s the ranch sauce that adds some tangy deliciousness.
Don’t forget to drop by Cheshire Cafe for the Mummy Treat. It’s a flaky pastry with chocolate filling, topped with white icing stripes and sugar décor. It’s really just a dressed-up version of the Cheshire Cat Tail you can get here during the day. It’s sweet, and we like it, but it’s not THAT special.
Okay, on to Tomorrowland. Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe will have the Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Strips drizzled with Korean barbecue sauce and topped with black sesame seeds, fried garlic, and green onions. Don’t let these chicken strips fool you. They might look basic compared to some of the other party treats, but the sauce is fantastic and elevates the chicken. If you love sweet and sour sauce, then these are for you.
The Lunching Pad will offer the Jalapeño Popper Dog, an All-beef hot dog topped with sriracha cream cheese, crispy onions, bacon, and Hades relish. We LOVE this dog. The heat is a low heat, so it’s not TOO spicy. The relish is the spiciest part of the hot dog. The sriracha cream cheese is creamy and adds a nice texture.
We’ve tried all the new treats at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and will continue to keep an eye out for any other new snacks that arrive during the Halloween season, so stay tuned to DFB!

Enough with all the spicy foods already!
I agree with James. Enough with the spicy foods. Between that and all the alcohol, it’s starting to not be such a family oriented event.
I’m glad there will be some sweet things, though I don’t have a big sweet tooth. Because I can’t do spicy and it looks like most of their savory items are spicy smh
