So you know how the holiday season is one of the most busiest seasons for Disney World? Well, in Disneyland, one of the busiest seasons is Halloween Time, which happens this year from August 22nd through October 31st.
That’s because Disneyland goes ALL out for Halloween. Both parks get decorations and Oogie Boogie Bash has become something of a legend, which is why tickets generally sell out fast for it. Then there are the TONS of Halloween snacks that arrive throughout the resort, so yes, people flock to Disneyland for Halloween. If you’re one of those people, though, you’re going to need to know about some ride closures that are also happening during that time.
Disneyland
In Disneyland Park, the Casey Jr. Circus Train in Fantasyland is currently closed for refurbishment. Disney has not yet announced a reopening date for the attraction.
Storybook Land Canal Boats is also currently closed for refurbishment in Fantasyland. Disney has not yet announced a reopening date for the ride.
In Tomorrowland, Star Tours closed on June 30th for a refurbishment. However, the ride will open later during Halloween Time on September 5th.
Main Street Cinema will be closing on September 8th — no reopening date has been announced yet.
The Mark Twain Riverboat is also closing on September 8th, with no reopening date yet announced.
In Adventureland, Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room will close on September 7th.
We also do not know when this attraction will reopen.
Disney California Adventure
If you were hoping to catch the Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration Parade! during Halloween Time, you’re out of luck. The parade will be ending on August 4th. Disney has not yet announced if it would bring the parade back after Halloween Time.
The Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! show will also be ending before Halloween Time, on August 17th. Again, Disney has not yet announced if the show will return after the Halloween season is over.
In Cars Land, Radiator Springs Racer will be MIA for at least part of the Halloween season. The ride is scheduled to close on August 18th. Disney has not yet revealed a reopening date.
So if you’re visiting Disneyland and Disney California Adventure during Halloween Time, you’ll need to be aware of these closures. I’ve been to Disneyland for Halloween Time several times, and these ride closures could make the parks feel even more crowded during a super busy time, so plan accordingly.

The Mark Twain opens again on September 12, so that’s a short closing. Yay! I don’t see the Tiki Room down again on the calendar, but I have heard that as well.
