Have you ever heard of Disney Lorcana?

Lorcana is Disney’s trading card game, and we are obsessed with it! Well, this lovely Disney Card game is celebrating its second anniversary, and to mark the occasion, they’re releasing a new set of cards called Fabled. Let’s dive in and learn all about the new set and when you can get your hands on it!

Before we get too ahead of ourselves, Lorca is the super-popular Disney card game that debuted in 2023. Over the last two years, they’ve released 8 sets and more than 1,800 unique cards for fans to collect, play with, and build their deck. In case you’re not already familiar with Disney Lorcana, it’s a popular trading card game set in the wondrous realm of Lorcana. Players will take on the role of Illumineers who wield magic ink to summon a team of Disney characters known as glimmers, who appear in both familiar and fantastical ways. The game was designed to be easy to learn for TCG newcomers while still offering strategic depth for experienced players.

Now, in celebration of the two-year anniversary of the game, we have so many new things to look forward to! Starting off strong, the new release, Fabled, will pre-release on August 29th with the full release available on September 5th, 2025! The tag line for the new series is “Welcome to the story.” We’ve known this new release was coming, but we finally have more details. 

Fabled will introduce two new card rarities! Iconic Cards will be even rarer than Enchanted cards, making them the rarest types of all when they release. There will only be 2 iconic cards featured in the Fabled set: Mickey (Brave Little Prince) and Minnie (Sweetheart Princess). 

There’s also Epic rarities now, which will be rarer than legendaries and more common than enchanteds! As far as characters go, Dumbo will be new to Lorcana, introduced in Fabled. Two of those cards will be Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Timothy Q. Mouse, the flight instructor. Both of these cards are evasive! 

Dumbo isn’t the only new character! Goofy Movie cards are also coming to Lorcana for Fabled! One of the new cards will be Powerline – The World’s Greatest Rockstar. There will also be action song cards inspired by the songs “Stand Out” and “Eye to Eye.” 

For the “Stand Out” card, there will be an uncommon and epic version of this card, and this card will feature Max swinging in while wearing his Powerline outfit.

For the “Eye To Eye” card, there’ll be an enchanted version of this card, too, and this can be played with a “sing together 9” ability. 

As far as returning cards go, there will be several cards reprinted from previous Lorcana sets, like Ursula’s Handiwork and Strength of a Raging Fire, just to name a few. According to Naomi Kim, the International Brand Manager, these cards are meant to break down between new and returning cards, “stabilize ink colors going forward,” as well as enhance your new cards/decks, too. 

The Pooh Hunny Wizard will also be re-released as an enchanted card with new variant art.  In total, there are 204 cards in the Fabled set, which is a little larger than other sets that Lorcana has released.  Out of the 204 cards, there’ll be 33 mechanically new cards with higher rarities and stronger abilities! 

In addition to the new set, the Ravensburger team is also making Disney Lorcana Puzzles! These will release on September 1st, with the first round available during Destination D23. This is the first wave of Lorcana puzzles (but they’re hoping there’s more to come in the future.) There will be 6 different puzzle options — one for each ink color — at 1,000 pieces each.

Each puzzle will feature a combination of artwork based around popular cards and characters from each ink type, plus each puzzle will also come with the Mickey Mouse – True Friend Promo Card. Each puzzle will cost $29.99! 

That’s not all! Before the holiday season, two collector boxes will be released! The first is the Elsa Gift Box for $29.99. It will feature 5 booster packs, an Elsa Spirit Promo Card, and a card storage box with punch-out dividers.

There will also be a Four Pocket Lorcana portfolio, which will include 4 booster packs, a Tinkerbell Giant Fairy Promo Card, and a collector’s guide to help teach new players about the cards (or give veteran players a refresher). 

After the Fabled release, Lorcana is entering a “mysterious phase.” Whispers in the Well invites you to “light your path” and solve a mystery of the ethereal whispers that have been uncovered in Lorcana. Nick Wilde and Judy Hops are jumping in as detectives in the Lorcana world!

The prerelease for this pack is set for November 7th, with the full release coming on November 14th! You can preorder this set now. Black Cauldron cards will be released in this new wave, as well as a new glimmer type called “whispers.” 

HOLD UP! They aren’t done yet! Another new set is coming in Quarter 1 in 2026 called Winterspell. It’s winter in Lorcana, so expect lots of snowy scenes, including Stitch shredding on a snowboard. 

This will also be our first time seeing Angel in Lorcana, who (if you don’t know) is Stitch’s mischievous and lovely girlfriend.
