We’ve got a word of warning if you’re heading to Disney World this week.
A dangerously hot heat wave has hit Florida, which will impact it over the next few days, and the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued another Heat Advisory for the state — including Disney World.
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Florida, including the counties where Disney World is located. The advisory is in place from 12 PM to 7 PM on Monday, July 28th, according to Fox 35 Orlando. Monday is expected to be the hottest day of the summer thus far, with temperatures reaching the upper 90s and heat indices up to 112 degrees.
Rain chances are on the low side, with only a 20% chance of an isolated shower or two, likely southwest of the Orlando metro area.
Officials advise postponing or rescheduling outdoor activities, especially during the hottest part of the day. Drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks inside where there is air conditioning. Try staying in the shade or cool areas when you can. It’s also advised to wear light and loose-fitting clothes.
There’s currently a massive heat dome over much of the Southeast and Midwest United States. It’s expected that around 350 heat records will be broken during this event. Orlando also recently broke a temperature record — just last week.
This is one of the biggest and most intense heat domes I remember in recent years in the SE/ Midwest. By early week it expands such that everyone in pink has a heat index of 100+, with a few spots peaking near 120. About 350 heat records (day and night) in jeopardy thru next… pic.twitter.com/4tevodO39h

If you’ll be at Disney World during this heat dome, make sure you pay attention to how you’re feeling — heat stroke and dehydration can sneak up on you! Drink water even when you’re not thirsty and take lots of breaks in the air conditioning — either in stores or on rides when you can! Wear comfortable, breathable clothing and don’t forget your SUNSCREEN!

Go the parks as early as possible and leave at lunch. Then return to parks at 6 pm and stay until closing. Have a leisurely lunch and a nap in the afternoon, then a quick service dinner when you go back to the parks. This way you miss the worst heat of the day and most of the thunderstorms. Of course, this doesn’t work with small children. That is a tough one.
