NEWS: Major CHANGES Set To Hit 2 Budget Airlines

The airline industry is consistently…inconsistent. One moment, we’re taking off our shoes in the security line — the next, we’re breezing by with our shoes on. One day, Southwest Airlines offered free checked bags. The next? We don’t want to talk about that right now…we’re still not over that change. You never know what will change before your next flight!

Speaking of changes, there’s been a bit of a shakeup at the Hollywood Burbank Airport. If you’re planning to travel to the West Coast (on a budget), there’s an important update you need to know about. Say goodbye to Avelo Airlines and hello to Breeze Airways.

Popular budget airline Breeze Airways confirmed it is adding new flights from Hollywood Burbank Airport, per Los Angeles Magazine. The news follows the announcement that a different budget airline, Avelo Airlines, removed flights out of Hollywood Burbank Airport.

Breeze Airways is a budget airline known for nonstop service at affordable fares. You can find, for example, flights to Vero Beach, Florida, for as low as $69.

The new Breeze Airways flights will be available starting in March 2026. There will be five new routes, including Burbank, Arcata, Redmond, Eugene, and Pasco/Tri-Cities, according to Los Angeles Magazine. Several of these routes will replace the discontinued Avelo Airlines flights, bringing Breeze’s stats to 300+ routes in 34 states.

When booking a flight, make sure to do your research. I constantly compare prices with Google Flights. Use a private browser (yes, it makes a difference!). Check back on different days of the week. You never know when a better rate might appear — and jump on a deal if you find one! Take it from me — I’ve booked a LOT of flights, and watched deals pass me by when I opted to wait a day or two to purchase my tickets. It can happen that quickly!
