Magic Kingdom’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are both BACK in 2025, but enthusiasm may not be very high among many Disney Adults…
These seasonal after-hours parties offer tons of fun like low ride wait times, special shows and spectaculars, event-exclusive character meet-and-greets, limited-time snacks and sweets, rare merchandise, and more! Despite these jolly perks, some Disney Adults are deciding to skip the festivities this holiday season.
We asked our readers, “Why are you skipping Disney World’s holiday parties this year?” and got hundreds of comments back — many saying the same things.
One reader wrote, “The three P’s: Price – Price – and Price.” Jollywood Nights’ most expensive nights are $199 — a $20 increase from 2024. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party’s most expensive prices are even worse, coming in at $229 — a $10 increase from 2024.
Pricing ranges based on date, but when we get closer to Christmas, those prices go up. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas ranges from $169 to $229 per person, while Jollywood Nights ranges from $159 to $199 per person. These costs add up FAST, especially if you’re not going alone. The price of admission also only includes nighttime access, so if you plan on doing a full park day, you’ll still have to buy a regular park ticket ON TOP OF the event ticket. Ouch.
Other folks are allocating their budget towards other Disney vacations. One reader commented that they’re opting to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom instead, while another is saving up for a Disney Cruise Line voyage.
Some other readers are worried about the weather, which is fair. Last year, it rained a ton, and that can quite literally put a damper on the event. While the hurricane season in Central Florida usually does its biggest damage in the summer and early fall, we’ve seen some wild storms hit at random times throughout the year, creating some unpredictability.
When you’re paying hundreds or thousands of dollars to attend these events, the last thing you want to do is be miserable because of bad weather.
However, a lot of Disney Adults tied it back to cost. A regular Disney vacation is already very expensive. These parties are definitely a luxury, and for a lot of folks, they just can’t justify the extra spending.
With all that said, there are tons of Disney Adults still planning on attending the events this year — some are even going to BOTH! It just goes to show that if you provide the parties, the Disney Adults will come.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will be held on the following dates in 2025:
- November: 7th, 10th, 11th, 13th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 21st, 25th, 26th, 28th, 30th
- December: 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 19th, 21st
Meanwhile, Jollywood Nights’ 2025 dates are as follows:
- November: 8th, 15th, 17th, 22nd, 24th, 29th
- December: 1st, 6th, 10th, 13th, 17th, 20th, 22nd

While everyone says that, Halloween night sold out in 5 hours for MNSSHP and that and all the Christmas parties eventually sell out every night.
Multi-year AP. No longer willing to pay nearly $200 per person for a few extra hours in the parks. Disney has finally priced itself out of this family’s business. Will be reassessing whether or not to renew our AP as well.
Man, these people are getting more worse than someone I know who complains about prices all the time. Remember, guys, it’s not about how much you pay, it’s about how much you enjoy it
I attended both last year, but will not be attending either this year – even though I will be in Disney World. I know theses are supposed to be limited admission events, but they were both very crowded. The ride lines were long. To me, shorter wait times for attractions was the main draw. The events no longer include bottled beverages, popcorn, and ice cream treats. The emphasis is on special food offerings that you buy. I am not interested in that. I’ll schedule my park visits around these events. Not worth the price for me.
Jack – I agree about enjoyment, and I really didn’t enjoy either event last year. If I had enjoyed it, I would have been willing to pay and attend.
