When you’re in Disney World, it gets HOT, and that also means you can get miserable pretty quick.
Staying hydrated and staying cool the best you can is a great way to attempt to avoid overheating and becoming crabby, and sometimes you need the help of a cooling tool to do that. Sometimes people prefer cooling towels, and others prefer mini fans, but is this new cooling tool about to take over? We decided to try it out to see!
A New Way to Keep Yourself Cool!
The Neck Cooling Tube is the newest item online to help keep you cool during the summer, but we were curious to see if it was really worth the $15 it usually costs. The best way to use this is to put it in the freezer and allow it to solidify completely, then allow it to cool you throughout the day. We would say this is worth the money, as it’s nice and lightweight, not to mention it lays right on your pulse point, so it kept us cooler than a cooling towel or handheld fan did.
Now, we didn’t have a freezer with us all day, and we couldn’t put it in the fridge either, so instead we put it in a cup of ice water, which worked decently well. Our only complaint is that since it couldn’t firm up completely, it didn’t last as long as a cooling towel or fan usually does. Now, that could be different based on if we had been able to put it in the freezer to begin with, but we liked it enough to continue experimenting with it, and it’s good to know a cup of ice water can work in a pinch.
It definitely kept us cool, and we think if you were to use it in conjunction with a cooling towel or fan, it’ll work especially well!

I started using these a couple months ago. In the Florida summer heat, they do warm up quickly. I change them every 45-60 minutes . That includes squeezing the tube to crush the ice About every 20 minutes, as the outside warms up. I put 3 to 5 of them in a Ziploc bag and put that in an insulated lunch bag. This does add a lot of weight to my park bag, but it’s worth it. I also use the AMKEN waist fan, Which is amazing.
