If you’re at Disney World today, here’s a heads up on the weather!

A rainy Hollywood Studios
A storm, Invest 93-L, will be moving over Central Florida throughout the day. Expect your Disney day to be filled with lots of rain, with possibly up to three inches of it in some areas. Here’s what you need to know, and what you can do!
Although the storm is looking a little better and more organized than it was, there is a concern about possible flooding in Orange County. There is also a chance of lightning to be aware of.

It’s a rainy day in Disney World
According to WESH 2, “93-L will move into the Gulf on Wednesday, where it will continue to act like a water hose, pumping a lot of moisture toward Central Florida so rain chances remain high for us through late week regardless of any tropical development.”

Rainy day in Disney World
We’re in that time of year in Florida…hurricane season, which runs from June 1st to November 30th. We’re also going to see stormy weather and rain start to pick up throughout the summer! Rain can suck when at Disney World, especially when it’s unexpected. So what can you do to make sure your day doesn’t get ruined, and you stay dry?

Disney World
Expect It
The first thing that helps on a rainy day is simply expecting it. So, if it’s your first time coming to Disney World this summer, just be aware that you could be seeing rain multiple times. Keep checking the Disney World app because a few rides may shut down due to lightning!

Bring Proper Shoes
Make sure you have appropriate footwear for the weather. Some shoes aren’t meant for the water, and will keep your socks drenched all day long. Not a pleasant feeling! That goes the same with that nice pair of Jordans or Nike Dunks you’ve got; if you don’t want them to get wet, maybe go with something else.

Bring Rain Gear
Umbrellas, rain ponchos, stroller coverings, bring whatever you’ll need to keep yourself dry. Even if you think it won’t rain, make sure you bring it with you, because it probably will at some point. Ponchos in the parks are really expensive, and they can sell out. So just be prepared ahead of time so you can still enjoy your day if and when it rains!

The Best Park on Rainy Days
We think that Magic Kingdom is the best park for a rainy day because there are so many indoor attractions and locations. When it’s raining, being indoors is the best thing you can do! We also think that Magic Kingdom is great if you want to leave the parks while it’s raining because you can quickly hop on the resort monorail and go check out some hotels while it rains!

Watch out for flooding in Disney World!
