Protesters gathered near Disneyland Resort on Friday, July 11th. These protests may continue throughout the weekend, closing roads and potentially impacting entrances. If you’re heading to Disneyland Resort on July 12th or July 13th, here’s what you need to know so the protests do not disrupt your day in the parks.
Reports indicate that Vice President JD Vance is in Anaheim, California for the weekend. Vance is expected to take a trip to Disneyland with his family, according to The Orange County Register. Visitors may need to take an alternate route to visit Disneyland Resort this weekend to avoid protests. Here’s what we suggest.
On July 11th, security tents were set up at the Grand Californian Hotel and the area was tightly monitored. Disneyland officials told The Orange County Register that security personnel are working with Disneyland Resort Security “in preparation for an upcoming guest visit.” If you’re checking into the Grand Californian Resort this weekend, plan to get there early, as check-in might take a little longer due to heightened security.
Protesters gathered near Disneyland on Friday to speak out against Vance and the current administration. These demonstrations were spotted outside the park at an intersection near the park entrance. Protests could continue throughout the weekend, so if you’re planning a visit to the theme parks, prepare for additional security and crowds near the Disneyland entrance.
For example, on July 11th, Disney Way was closed due to the protests. We recommend visitors park at the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure and follow instructions from Disneyland Cast Members. The parking structure is accessible via Disneyland Drive.

We also recommend that visitors allow a little extra time for travel to accommodate potential road closures or alternate routes. We will keep you updated on this situation and how it may affect your upcoming trip.

Follow the parking signs carefully this weekend
