There are so many places to eat when you’re visiting Disney World. Here at DFB, we love to go all around Disney World property to try as many different eats, treats, and drinks as our stomachs can take.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
We recently stopped by the Roaring Fork at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, one of Disney’s most beloved resorts. We had quite a few things to try here, and we have thoughts. Is this a place you need to stop by? Let’s find out!
Atmosphere
Roaring Fork is a quick service restaurant at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
You can order food at the counter, but grab and go items are available, as well.
The color scheme is the same as Wilderness Lodge with warm wood tones and natural light. The theme here is outdoors. Inside, you’ll find plenty of seating with tables and chairs.
But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?!
Menu
Roaring Fork has a menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even late night dining. You’ll be able to come here at any point in the day and get something for yourself. For lunch and dinner, this is a spot to go if you like barbecue. We’re talking burnt ends, brisket, pulled pork, burgers, you name it! It’s a popular spot to get barbecue without having to wait too long since this is a quick service location.
And now, onto the main event — the food!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the 10-Hour Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich for $11.99. This is made with Pulled Pork tossed in Apple-Barbecue Sauce and topped with Creamy Slaw on a Sweet Brioche Bun served with French Fries. It tastes like…well…like a pulled pork sandwich. It’s not different from what you can get pretty much anywhere on property, but it is good.
The pork is soft and tender. The sauce is sweet, which we liked. The bun was nice and soft. It’s a solid pulled pork sandwich. You also get a choice of side: fries, housemade chips, or coleslaw. We went with fries because we like those Disney fries.
We also couldn’t pass up on the Grilled Cheese for $9.29. It’s has a Four Cheese Blend, Bacon, and Crispy Onion Straws on Fresh Sourdough Bread. This is a good grilled cheese, y’all. The four blends of cheese just really went well together, and the sandwich was just so melty and cheesy. The bread was toasted, which offered some crunch, but we think it might have been almost too crunchy.
The only complaint we have is that we felt it needed more bacon…because we really couldn’t taste the bacon and that would have leveled up this grilled cheese a bit. The crispy onions didn’t add a lot of flavor but did offer up some crunch. So, yeah, MORE BACON, please?
For dessert, the Campfire Cupcake for $6.49 looked to delicious not to get! It was a Chocolate Cupcake with Chocolate rocks, Buttercream and Marshmallow. We’ve been fans of this cupcake for a while. First, it just looks really cool with all the details for the flames and the rocks…LOVE IT. It also has a lot of wonderful chocolate flavor, so chocolate lovers, this one is for you.
But we think this will be a hit with just about anyone who wants to satisfy their sweet tooth. It doesn’t feel like it’s TOO much of anything, and yes, it was sweet, but not to the point that we wanted to put it down. Is it shareable? Sure. Will you want to share? Well, maybe not.
This is a drink we get again and again anytime we find ourselves at Wilderness Lodge.
Drinks
To drink, we picked up the Gold Rush Latte for $5.59. It’s a vanilla latte with caramel. You can choose between getting it iced or hot. We went with iced…because it’s summer and it’s hot out. First, you’ll want to stir it up really well to get all the vanilla caramel flavor from the bottom into the rest of the drink. Then drink it and enjoy that sweet vanilla caramel flavor.
It does come with whipped cream on top, but it melted pretty fast. However, as an iced drink, it’s refreshing and sweet.
Nosh or Not
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…
- You want a quick meal. If you’re looking for a quick meal, you can get fed pretty fast here at Roaring Fork. This location also has Mobile Order to make it even more quick and convenient.
- You want barbecue. The menu here is heavily barbecue-focused, so if that’s something that sounds good to you, you’ll find it here.
- You’re staying at Wilderness Lodge. If you’re staying at the hotel, you can just grab food here and either eat it there or take it up to your room to enjoy it in privacy. Or you can just find a nice place to sit outside and enjoy a meal in the beautiful atmosphere of Wilderness Lodge.
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- You want a table service dining experience. If you’re looking for a dining experience that is a little slower and where you’re waited on, this isn’t it.
- You don’t like or want barbecue. Although there are other things on the menu at Roaring Fork other than barbecue, most of its focus is on that.
- You’re not staying at Wilderness Lodge. If you’re staying somewhere else and have no reason to visit Wilderness Lodge, you’re probably not going to want to travel all the way to this hotel just to have a quick service meal.
Overall
Roaring Fork is a great option for a quick meal if you’re staying at or visiting Wilderness Lodge. The barbecue here is pretty standard but tasty, and we would order the grilled cheese again. For those who want a sweet treat, the Campfire Cupcake is a must, if only for the pretty Instagram photos (although it’s tasty, too).
