We are big fans of cruises in the Food Blog household!

From the Disney Cruise Line to Carnival cruises and everything in between, there’s nothing that beats relaxing out on the open seas — or so we thought! Now, there’s been a huge change to the Carnival Cruise Line that might just make us book a vacation ASAP.
When it comes to cruise lines, we don’t have a preference! Anytime we can relax in the middle of the open ocean with some tasty food right on hand, we’re a happy crew. There is one subtle thing, though, that will make us prefer one cruise line over another, and it might seem silly, but it’s important to us.

So what is this one thing that matters? The soda, of course! We are team Coca Cola at this blog, so Carnival Cruise Line’s latest news has us cheering from the top deck. After 5 years, the cruise line is switching back from Pepsi to Coke products on all of their cruises!

We love an ice-cold Coke!
This includes all sodas, sugar-free drinks, and sparkling flavored water on the ships. Guests will be able to cool off with drinks like Coke, Sprite, Fanta, Powerade, Topo Chico, and Fairlife! President of Carnival Cruise Line, Christine Duffy, said, “We are excited to welcome back Coca-Cola’s diverse lineup of beverages, which our guests love and which will enhance the food and beverage experience that is always part of a great cruise vacation on Carnival.”

We need one of these ASAP!
The switch will begin at the end of the summer, and the cruise line anticipates that the switch will be completed on its North American ships by the end of September. The Australian-based ships already serve the Coca-Cola brand.

The two companies describe this as “the perfect partnership,” and we tend to agree! While this might not seem like a big deal to some, we know that when asked in a restaurant, Pepsi is not okay. (Sorry to Pepsi, we just love a cold Coke.) This is a small but big deal to us, and we can’t wait for the switch! As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more travel news and updates.
