REVIEW: Disney World Just Threw a Popsicle Into a Margarita…and It Works

Hello, summer. Okay, we’re not going to lie, summer is the season when we are basically RACING to the Mexico Pavilion in EPCOT for a nice, refreshing, cold margarita.

Choza de Margarita

The margarita is one of those cocktails that just gets better when it feels like a million degrees out and sweat is pouring into your eyes. However, someone at Choza de Margarita thought, “Hey, how can we make this margarita even MORE refreshing?” and came up with the idea of putting a popsicle in it. So we had to check it out because that is seriously a novel idea.

Meet the Mango Poptail Margarita. For $22, you get a margarita with mango puree and a strawberry popsicle in it, along with a lime wedge and a Tajin chile powder rim. No lie! They put the popsicle inside the margarita. And that might seem WILD, but get this…it works. Granted, it’s kind of basic with the flavors, but it’s tasty and refreshing. It’s not like the strawberry ice pop is anything special, and it’s about the same as the ones you get from the snack carts. But put it in a margarita, and, to quote Mickey Mouse, “OH, BOY.”

Mango Margarita Poptail

The mango flavor has that bit of tequila flavor coming through, and then the strawberry popsicle kind of melts into the mango flavor, and it’s actually quite nice and refreshing. Yeah, it’s basically a strawberry mango margarita, but putting it together this way makes it fun. It’s also something that EVERYONE was asking us about when we were carrying it around EPCOT. So new trendy drink alert, y’all!

A popsicle in a margarita?

While you’re here, be sure to pick up some food, too — the tostadas here SLAP, as do the empanadas.
