NEWS: Molly Baz Opens NEW Fast Food Restaurant Featuring BURGERS

We all love Disney World food, but have you heard of this new non-Disney fast food spot?

It looks like we’re going to have to make our way to Portland, Oregon, because a new plant-based burger joint has just opened up. This wasn’t opened up randomly; it was started by a famous American professional cook — let’s take a look!

Have you heard of Molly Baz? She’s an American cook, recipe developer, and food writer. She was a senior food editor at Bon Appétit magazine and appeared frequently in videos for the magazine’s YouTube channel before leaving in 2020. Basically, she knows how to cook a mean dish!

Now she’s moving onto her next project, building a plant-based fast food restaurant chain! She took to Instagram to make the announcement, captioned “WORLD! MEET @eatfaceplant !!! THE NEW KID ON THE FAST FOOD BLOCK.”

She shared with her followers that four years ago, the co-founder, Matt Plitch, called her to share his vision for an “exceptional and world-altering plant-based fast food burger joint.” She mentioned he wanted a meat-eater (her) to be Head of Culinary, which is pretty unique. She went on to say his vision was rooted in a “deeply passionate commitment to reversing the trajectory of global warming by reducing beef consumption in the sector that consumes it most.”

Baz claimed that “99.99% of readily-available plant-based burgers I’ve ever tasted simply aren’t delicious, so that’s where I stepped in,” and she got to work! As great a chef as she is, she admitted that she had no idea how challenging the development of the menu would be. She claimed that she spent more hours working on the menu than on any other project in her career to date. Her main goal: make the food taste as juicy, crave-able, finger-licking, and mouth watering-ly delicious as its real meat competition.

Four years later, she has accomplished her goal with the opening of Face Plant. She wrote she finally launched “a 100% plant based menu that even I (my own harshest critic) am absolutely bonkers-town buck wild about. BURGERS! SHAKES! NUGGETS! FRIES!” You can tell how excited she is!

Doors are officially open in Portland, Oregon, and now we’re planning a trip to go. Molly finished her announcement with a bold statement — “this is our 1st location, but it certainly won’t be the last. If you don’t live in PDX, don’t worry, we are heading for every dang city in the states and beyond.” We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Molly Baz’s new fast food chain.
