EPCOT has become a beloved destination for Disney adults. Here we can find not just nostalgia, but some world-class food, drinks, and immersive cultural experiences.

EPCOT
EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion is a fan-favorite starting point for the iconic “Drink Around the World” experience. With its vibrant atmosphere, festive music, and strong, flavorful margaritas from spots like La Cava del Tequila, it’s easy to see why so many Disney adults kick off their international adventure here. Where are the Disney fans who pick Mexico over Canada to start? But lately, there’s been a growing trend that’s rubbing some seasoned visitors the wrong way — people going overboard on their very first drink.

Mexico Pavilion
Let’s be honest: Disney adults are all here to have a good time. But when guests start the day by slamming down tequila shots or ordering the most potent margarita without pacing themselves, it can quickly set the tone for a messy park experience. Slurred conversations, loud behavior, and even public stumbling not only ruin the vibe for others but can also cut your own day short. EPCOT is meant to be enjoyed leisurely, with each pavilion offering unique tastes and cultural moments, not just another stop on a bar crawl. We know it can be easy to do because those drinks are delicious, but let’s slow it down.

Avocado Margarita
Veteran Disney adults know the key is balance. If you’re planning to sip your way around the World Showcase, start slow. Hydrate, pair your drinks with food, and pace yourself to truly enjoy what each country has to offer. Setting a good tone in Mexico means respecting the space, the cast members, and your fellow guests. So next time you’re tempted to go all-in on drink number one, take a deep breath, raise your glass, and remember — it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

Honestly after watching a 20 something stumbling about carrying a violet sake, throwing up in the bushes, then returning to drinking I think Disney may want to enforce the slowing down and start watching the smart serving more. Ended up leaving Epcot as it was just a massive drunkfest that day.
Yes. Enjoy in moderation, it is a family setting.
Being in recovery I won’t join you in tasting drinks around the world but I understand the enjoyment.
Have fun,but know that others are affected.
The “Bar Crawl” is not what Walt and Roy had in mind for family entertainment.
This is why we do not go to WDW after last year when people over induldge alcohol with a quick throwing up all over the lands. Sad commentary on society and those in charge of WDW.
Epcot is the adult park, drinking around the world is done by Disney Adults. Many countries have a drinking culture that promotes comradarie. Maybe you aren’t an adult yet…
It’s not even only Mexico! There’s too much alcohol everywhere in wdw….and I’ve seen way too many adults acting less than nice or appropriate. It turns a fun day into something scary plus parents now need to explain reality to kids when everyone is just trying to escape! There was a reason Walt (and Eisner) forbade drinking in the parks and Downtown Disney Marketplace (now Springs)! Sadly it seems that alcohol is offered now not only for greed but to appease non-americans whose culture drinks much less water and milk….they expect booze of some sort. Current Disney thinking seems to be throwing the baby out with the bath water with all their destruction and trying to lure young folks into wdw via alcohol instead of trying to please the generation that built Disney and want to keep the legacy and traditions alive. A little tweak or upgrade is fine. Totally getting rid of what Walt and Eisner built, along with their values, is not! Get rid of all alcohol in the parks!!!
My tip as a non- drinker is that if the behavior of some guests bothers you, go earlier in the day. There seems to be less of a problem then, plus lower crowds over-all.
My favorite park is EPCOT. I don’t drink, especially during the day. One way to stop people from getting drunk and out of hand is, don’t serve them! You don’t have to drink to have a good time. Stop selling liquor to everyone without limits. Don’t quell my good time.
I have an idea. Put some engineering into the ” magic bands” to let you know when someone has had enough to drink. If it turns a certain color, refuse them drinks with alcohol. It’s best for everyone in the park.
The whole concept of Disney adults is what’s ruining the atmosphere at all the parks. Entitled, self absorbed grown ups who think the parks were made for them. That drinking around the world is even a concept to begin with is just wrong. Disney is for the kids and their families. The last thing that’s needed is even a few inebriated idiots walking around. I suppose that when Disney decided that they wanted to mainly target thrill seekers it was inevitable.
What I’d like to see is Disney to stop “Disney-fying” Epcot with characters from their sad movies. Epcot was supposed to be an “adult” centered park and has been since I’ve been coming in the early ’80’s. That’s why I’m moving to Universal as they still appreciate the ones who make the money spent at their parks.
I agree. We were in the cafe in the France Pavillion and a man was so drunk he could barely stand. He was using some very awful language also. His friend tried to get him to be quiet because so many kids were around but he continued. We actually got out of line and left. It was terrible
I think the root problem is these expensive drinks are a huge money grab for WDW and they tend to sadly turn a blind eye to the disgusting drunken behavior. I enjoy drinking but know how to do so IN MODERATION. Epcot used to be one of my favorite parks but now I avoid it in the evenings at all costs. A FAMILY THEME park is not the setting for this type of behavior. DO BETTER
I am agast at the comment to “go earlier in the day” to avoid the drunken behavior is ludicrous. STOP THE MADNESS. Those who niw can consume alcohol apparently need child control limits.
WDW STOP THE MADNESS!
Omg, yes!!! I don’t drink, but understand that there are some that enjoy it. But, please pace yourself. EPCOT is meant to be enjoyed by all.
