We’ve just received the greatest news that only true Disney adults will understand.
Casting for an Oswald Disney+ series has been announced, and we’re obsessed.
According to Deadline, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit will be produced by Jon Favreau, known for his work on The Mandalorian, Star Wars, and Iron Man, and has announced the three leads for the show.
Ravi Cabot-Conyers will be playing Jake, “a hardworking middle school student with a big heart.” He’s known for his roles in Skeleton Crew and Encanto, where he voiced Antonio.
Mykal-Michelle Harris, known for Raven’s Home and Mixed-ish, will play Jen, “an artistic middle schooler who is always ahead of the game.” Harris has also worked on HBO’s Big Little Lies.
Ryder Allen will take on the role of Taylor, “a middle school student who is cautious but avoids turning down his friends.” Allen has been in The Penguin and Palmer.
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit has always been a big part of the Walt Disney Company. He was one of Walt Disney’s original characters and appeared in animated shorts before Universal acquired Oswald. This later caused Disney to create Mickey Mouse.
Disney acquired Oswald in 2006 by trading Al Michaels, the NBC Sunday Night Football announcer, for the Oswald trademark.
The new TV series coming to Disney+ will feature Oswald “in a blend of animation and live action, bringing his mischievous attitude and self-absorbed antics to modern audiences.”
This new series sounds like a blast, and we’re excited to watch it. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more!

I love Oswald, but haven’t we all had enough of the “snarky, insufferable kids save the world” trope?
Could we please just get more Paul Rudish animated shorts – this time with Oswald as the star? Please?
