That’s right, it’s Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th Anniversary, and they’re celebrating in a HUGE way! We’re talking special food, character meet-and-greets, and fantastic exclusive shows — including a STUNNING new nighttime spectacular!

We couldn’t miss out on the milestone celebration for the Disney park in Hong Kong; we just HAD to go…so we did! That’s right, we are at Hong Kong Disneyland to join The Most Magical Party of All! From new entertainment to the sights, tastes, and sounds — this year-long party is going to be one to remember.

Hercules in Momentos!

One thing that we really looked forward to was the nighttime firework spectacular called Momentous: Party in the Night Sky. It’s been dubbed the “Most Magical Show on Earth.” Trust us, it lives up to that title! This wasn’t like anything we’ve seen before — it literally had WATER AND FIRE AND FIREWORKS AND DRONES!

The show’s about to start!

The show provides you with 28 minutes of large-scale 3D projection mapping technology, choreographed fountains, illuminated water projection, lasers, theatrical lighting, pyrotechnics, fireworks effects, and DRONES! Similar to “Happily Ever After” at Magic Kingdom, the projections go down the entire length of Main Street, U.S.A. This show is a special one, as it’s exclusive to the 20th anniversary. It even features an anniversary-only prelude created specially for the celebration. To say we LOVED it would be an understatement at this point!

Momentos!

Everyone, this show is genuinely a Disney fan’s dream come true! The show is filled with nods to so many of the most iconic and beloved Disney films. One scene that took our breath away was a Moana scene. There were waves rushing down the street as the Heart of Te Fiti was restored. If you’re a fan of Disney Pixar’s Coco, this would have had you bawling — marigold petals fell from above and covered the street in a stunning glow.

The show will feature some of your favorite Disney characters — including the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella, the Genie from Aladdin, and more. This is Hong Kong Disneyland, so of course Duffy and Friends are in the show, too! Did you know that the nighttime spectacular is made up of nearly 200 brand-new scenes? CRAZY RIGHT?!

Of course, it can’t be a nighttime spectacular without the villains trying to take over!

We were in AWE!

You’re not going to believe us, but the castle clock actually FLOATS! It literally floats in mid-air, and Tinker Bell transforms the castle and the buildings all the way down Main Street! Talk about “Most Magical Show on Earth” — YEAH IT IS!

28 minutes of pure MAGIC!

We could go on and on about this show, we love it SO much! If we had a show like this at Disneyland or Disney World, we would lose our marbles. It was amazing to get to see this spectacular in person. Maybe you’ll get the chance over the course of this next year (we highly recommend it!).
