The 2025 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is almost here, and Disney fans everywhere are already planning their return to the park’s most mouthwatering event of the year.

2024 Food and Wine Festival
This year’s festival runs August 28th through November 22nd. From international marketplaces to the culinary options and exclusive merch drops, this festival transforms EPCOT into a paradise for food lovers and Disney die-hards alike. Whether you’re a seasoned EPCOT foodie or a first-time visitor, this year’s event promises new flavors, fan-favorite dishes, and a few surprises that are sure to make it unforgettable. But there’s one rule we are encouraging people to follow this year.
If you’ve visited EPCOT during one of its iconic festivals — like Food & Wine or Flower & Garden — you’ve likely noticed a frustrating new reality: there is hardly any place to sit. With Disney quietly removing many of the high-top tables scattered around World Showcase, guests are finding themselves awkwardly juggling plates, drinks, and utensils while trying to enjoy the global flavors. But there’s an unofficial rule starting to catch on—one that not everyone knows about yet: share your table.

Nice little picnic table
Yes, really — this small act of kindness is making a big difference. With fewer places to sit or set down your festival goodies, guests are beginning to invite others to join them at their table rather than guard extra space. It might feel a little awkward at first, but the magic of EPCOT often kicks in once you start chatting. You could strike up a conversation about favorite booths or trade festival tips. After all, you already have something in common — Disney! Plus, it’s better than hovering over a trash can to eat.

Better than a trashcan!
So, next time you snag a rare table near France or Mexico, take a look around. If someone’s balancing three plates and a toddler, wave them over. It’s the new EPCOT rule — and honestly, the magic multiplies when you follow it. Follow DFB for more Disney tips.

I agree! We’ve done this in the past, nice way to meet people too.
But it begs the question; why has WDW reduced the amount of tables overall?
Some of our fondest memories was with folks we shared our table with over the years. Some interesting folks and great stories were shared. If you have 4 chairs and are only using 2, invite someone over!
No. Do not invade my personal space. I will not share a table with weird strangers.
I always offer if we have room and also always ask if we can join someone if we’re looking for a table. I’m glad that some good manners remain in this era of entitlement.
Jack, what makes you think that strangers are weird? You’ll never know if you don’t share a table.
