We have fantastic news from Disney World!
There are a lot of fantastic pools around the resort, but one of our favorites is Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resort. It’s massive, has so many fun interactive elements for guests, but it’s been closed for refurbishment for many months now. We were wondering if it would be open for the bulk of summer, and now we have our answer — yes, Stormalong Bay is officially BACK OPEN!
We just stopped by the resort this morning, and sure enough, the pool is back up and running, and ready to welcome guests yet again.
This pool has been closed since January 2025 for maintenance, and Disney told us it would be closed through “June 2025.” We worried that it meant the pool would be closed for the entire month of June, but thankfully, we’ve been proven wrong!
While the pool has reopened, the cabanas, the ship slide, and the small pool behind it are still closed — but Cast Members anticipate it’s only a matter of time before they’re both open as well.
We had a feeling it would be reopening soon, thanks to all-new menu items arriving at Hurricane Hanna’s, the pool bar nearby, just a few days ago. You still may run into some construction near the pool on your visit, along with at the front of the hotel — it’s also being refurbished.
We’re so glad guests can now enjoy this incredible pool yet again, and hope that it won’t have to close again for maintenance (or any other reason) for the foreseeable future. It’s better to catch any issues before they happen, of course, but 6 months is a long time for Disney World to be without one of its best ways to cool off!
